PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 14 matches

Dabang Delhi are the new table-toppers at the end of Day 14 of PKL 12.
Day 14 of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) began with a thrilling clash between two rivals, Patna Pirates and U Mumba. U Mumba inflicted an early all-out on Patna and maintained a comfortable lead until the end of the first half.
However, the second half witnessed an incredible storm of in-form Ayan Lohchab, who almost single-handedly kept the Pirates in the contest. Despite his heroics, a few costly errors in the final moments meant the Pirates had to suffer a one-point loss to U Mumba.
The second match witnessed yet another dominating performance by Dabang Delhi, as they defeated the Gujarat Giants by 10 points. Delhi continues their unbeaten run this season, and once again the star of the show was none other than Ashu Malik, who led from the front with 14 raid points.
The day was packed with thrilling moments that left fans on the edge of their seats. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five moments from Day 14 of PKL 12:
5. Zafardanesh’s Super 10
In the absence of Ajit Chouhan, Amirmohammad Zafardanesh took charge of U Mumba’s raiding department today and delivered a brilliant performance. He scored his first Super 10 of the season, finishing with 12 raid points against the Patna Pirates.
When the Pirates staged a comeback through their star raider Ayan Lohchab, Zafardanesh stood tall, not letting them snatch the lead. His clever play against the Pirates’ defense and crucial points in the final minutes proved important, helping U Mumba secure another victory.
4. Fazel Atrachali’s High 5
Fazel Atrachali was in red-hot form today against the Giants as he took charge of Dabang Delhi’s defensive unit and registered his second High 5 of the season. Playing with a free mind and without the burden of captaincy, he is no longer holding himself back and continues to deliver crucial tackles.
He scored 5 tackle points today, which led to his 34th High 5 in PKL history, making him the player with the most number of High 5s in the league, equalling the record of his teammate Surjeet Singh. He had only 2 unsuccessful attempts, and his performance helped the team secure yet another victory.
3. Ashu Malik’s Super 10
The title of “Agent” suits Ashu Malik the best, and he is showing no signs of stopping. He registered yet another Super 10 today, his 5th of the season, scoring 14 raid points against the Giants and helping Dabang Delhi secure another victory.
He is leading his team in style and setting an example. Dabang Delhi remains unbeaten in the league with 5 wins in 5 games, and Ashu has been the top contributor with 75 raid points. He is also currently leading the list of top raid scorers this season.
2. Ayan’s Super 10
Ayan was on a different level today, carrying the momentum from his last match, where he scored 21 raid points against Puneri Paltan. When Patna was on the verge of an early all-out, Ayan saved them three consecutive times by picking up two points each raid before finally getting out on the fourth attempt.
U Mumba held a healthy lead in the first half, but things turned around as Ayan kept striking with multi-point raids, a super raid, and eventually inflicted an all-out to level the scores.
However, two costly lobby errors in the final minutes proved decisive, resulting in a narrow loss for the Pirates. Despite the defeat, Ayan was the lone warrior for his side, scoring 21 raid points once again, but this time, in vain.
1. Last-minute thriller
The first match of Day 14 was decided in the final minute. Patna Pirates were leading by 1 point when Anil Mohan went in to raid, but Navdeep caught his ankle and extended the lead to 2. With 1 minute and 9 seconds left, the Pirates switched to the strategy of empty raids.
Ayan took his time and made an empty raid, but Zafardanesh was quick and smart; he escaped Navdeep’s double thigh hold in just 4 seconds to pick up a point. Now, with only a 1-point lead, Ayan went in for another empty raid, leaving just 9 seconds on the clock.
Zafardanesh once again struck, taking another point in 4 seconds, leveling the score. With 5 seconds remaining, it was Patna’s turn for a do-or-die raid, and they trusted their main man, Ayan Lohchab. Unfortunately, he failed to score and ended up stepping into the lobby, handing U Mumba a thrilling win.
