PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 17 matches

Puneri Paltan holds the top spot at the end of Day 17 of PKL 12.

Day 17 of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) was full of thrill and drama. It began with the clash between Gujarat Giants and Haryana Steelers.

Giants tried their best to take the lead from time to time, but the Steelers’ defenders always denied them, pulling off 5 Super Tackles in the match. The score was almost tied, but in the final minutes, the Steelers snatched the game and prevented the Giants from making a comeback.

The second match was absolute cinema. Telugu Titans took a strong lead, but Bengaluru Bulls made a brilliant comeback in the final minutes, courtesy of Alireza Mirzaian, who scored yet another Super 10.

With one raid left for the Bulls, the Titans had a 1-point lead, and Alireza was on the bench. The Bulls decided to send Ganesh, who heroically scored 3 raid points and secured the victory.

The day was filled with many thrilling moments and incredible performances. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five moments from Day 17 of PKL 12:

5. Bharat Hooda’s Super 10

Bharat was in great touch once again, although his team failed to win. He was the reason the Titans held a comfortable lead at one point, and even as the Bulls began their comeback, Bharat made sure they didn’t run away with the match through his smart gameplay.

He scored his fourth Super 10 of the season, finishing with 13 raid points. However, his efforts weren’t enough to secure victory for the Titans, as they lost in the final raid of the match.

4. Rakesh’s Super 10

Rakesh Sungroya fought like a lone warrior today for the Gujarat Giants. He scored his second Super 10 of the season, finishing with 14 raid points. He was the only reason the Giants stayed alive in the match, as he kept fighting.

His efforts were not enough; he received little support from his teammates. The team failed to maintain their composure in the final minutes, leading to another defeat at the hands of the Steelers.

3. Shivam Patare’s All-Round Brilliance

Shivam Patare was everywhere on the mat and had a great day in both departments. He scored a total of 12 points against the Giants, 9 in raids and 3 in defense, including a brilliant super tackle.

He didn’t allow the Giants any chance of a comeback with his all-round brilliance. His incredible performance was the main reason Haryana managed to get past the Giants and add another 2 crucial points to the points table.

2. Jaideep’s High 5

The captain of Haryana Steelers had another incredible day today. Just a few days ago, he was ill and admitted to the hospital, but as soon as he was discharged, he returned to the mat and led his team to victory with crucial tackles.

Today, once again, he led from the front and secured another win, scoring his first High 5 of the season against the Giants. His overall leadership and crucial super tackles at important moments of the match helped the team clinch the victory.

1. Alireza’s Super 10

The Iranian star of the Bengaluru Bulls is in red-hot form right now. No one expected him to perform this well at the start of the season. He has surprised everyone and is becoming a key player for the Bulls in every game.

Today, he scored yet another Super 10, his 4th of the season, finishing with 11 raid points against the Titans. When the Titans had a comfortable lead with only a few minutes left, Alireza scripted a brilliant comeback for the Bulls with his smart raids, picking up points and equalizing the score.

In the final minute, he was caught out while defending, which gave the Titans an edge, but Ganesh’s last raid heroics sealed the win for the Bulls. Still, it was Alireza’s performance that laid the foundation for the victory.
