PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 24 matches

Puneri Paltan holds the top spot at the end of Day 24 of PKL 12.

Day 24 of Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) began with a clash between the Gujarat Giants and the Telugu Titans. The Giants stepped onto the mat with a new strategy, benching their captain, Mohammadreza Shadloui.

The match remained neck and neck until the end, but the Titans held their nerves in the closing moments and snatched a victory from the Giants. The second match swung like a pendulum. Jaipur inflicted an early all-out on the U Mumba, but the Mumba made a strong comeback and were leading by 10 points at one stage.

However, in the closing minutes, the Panthers added another twist to the game, and Aashish’s tackle on Sandeep ensured the match went to a tiebreaker, where Jaipur held their nerves and clinched another victory on their home ground.

The day was filled with many thrilling moments and incredible performances. On that note, let’s have a look at the top five best moments from Day 24 of PKL 12:

5. Bharat’s Class

Bharat Hooda has emerged as the lead raider for the Telugu Titans this season, and he has been impressive in that role, perfectly assisted by captain Vijay Malik. Bharat was brilliant once again today, scoring 8 raid points and 1 tackle point against the Giants.

He secured crucial raid points in the closing moments to give his team the lead and help them claim victory in a hard-fought battle. He was well supported by Vijay Malik, who contributed 7 raid points. Their collective effort helped the team secure two important points and move to the 4th position on the points table.

4. Shadloui is back

Before the match against the Titans, Gujarat Giants announced that Mohammadreza Shadloui would not be part of their starting seven and had been stripped of the captaincy. This left Kabaddi fans in shock, as it was the first time Shadloui had been dropped from the starting lineup.

However, after the first half, the coach brought him in as a raider, and he did not disappoint. He went for a dubki immediately and scored 2 points on that raid, and kept adding points that helped the Giants inflict an all-out on the Titans.

Nevertheless, the Titans regained control over Shadloui in the later stages and snatched victory away from the Giants.

3. Sandeep’s Super 10

Mumba fans were missing the services of Ajit Chouhan, but Sandeep emerged as a light of hope today, shining for U Mumba. He recorded his second PKL Super 10 of the season, finishing with 14 raid points in total, including a spectacular super raid.

Sandeep consistently picked up points while U Mumba were trailing in the first half, and his crucial raids helped the team inflict an all-out on Jaipur and build a 10-point lead.

Unfortunately, in the final raid, he was tackled by Aashish, which sent the match to a tiebreaker, and U Mumba ultimately lost the game by a bare margin.

2. Nitin Dhankhar’s Super 10

Nitin Dhankhar continues his fine form this season, shining once again in today’s match. He recorded his 7th Super 10 of the season, finishing with 14 raid points and surpassing the 100-point mark for the season.

His crucial raids in the final minutes helped the Jaipur Pink Panthers stage an incredible comeback and snatch victory from U Mumba in the tiebreaker. Dhankhar has been outstanding for the Panthers this season, and with this win, they have climbed to 5th place on the points table.

1. Jaipur’s Comeback

There are no better sights in Kabaddi than watching a team struggle and then stage a fabulous comeback to snatch victory, and that’s exactly what the Panthers did today. With just seven minutes left in the game, U Mumba held a 10-point lead over their old rival, the Jaipur Pink Panthers.

What followed was a strategic masterclass by the Panthers, as they played smartly and let one move lead to another. Nitin Dhankar showcased his brilliance, forcing U Mumba into an all-out with 1 minute and 22 seconds remaining, reducing their lead to just 2 points.

In the final raid of the match, U Mumba led by 1, and all Sandeep had to do was cross the baulk line, but Aashish executed a perfect tackle, sending the game into a tiebreaker. Jaipur held their nerves in the tiebreaker, tackling Anil Jasta and then playing smart to secure a sensational win over U Mumba.
