PKL 12: What will be Dabang Delhi's starting 7 in Pro Kabaddi 2025?

Dabang Delhi have built a strong squad for the upcoming PKL season 12.

After a strong performance in Season 11, Dabang Delhi once again prepared themselves for Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). In the auction earlier this year, the franchise made some brilliant decisions and has put together a spectacular squad.

From a sturdy and stable defence to quality raiders, they have managed to excel in all aspects on paper. They released both their primary raiders, Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar, ahead of the auction. However, they bring back Ashu for Rs 1.90 crore through the Final Bid Match card.

They also recruited experienced defenders such as Fazel Atrachali and Surjeet Singh to provide balance to the team. Although the PKL 8 winners failed to lift the trophy in the previous season, they are a strong contender to win the PKL 12 title. Here we take a look at the predicted starting 7 of the Dabang Delhi.

A new set of supporting raiders beside Ashu Malik

Ashu Malik was an obvious retention for Delhi. He has been an integral part of the franchise since his debut in season 8 and was the second-best raider of the previous season. Moreover, he is one of the best raiders in the current group of players in the league, with 730 raid points in 91 matches, including 38 super 10s.

Naveen Kumar, the second pillar of Dabang Delhi’s raiding department, has been released from the team. However, the management has done a fantastic job in finding a replacement for him.

They have recruited the experienced raider, Ajinkya Pawar, along with young raiders like Neeraj Narwal and Akshit, who did a decent job for their previous franchises. Apart from this, they have also retained Mohit, who made his debut last season as a supporting raider for Delhi.

A solid foundation: Relying on experienced defenders

Dabang Delhi have roped in some brilliant names to feature in their defence. Although they released Yogesh Dahiya, who was one of their best defenders in the last two seasons, the franchise has pulled in some exceptional substitutes for him.

Delhi bought the most successful defender in the league, Fazel Atrachali (545 tackle points), into their squad. In addition to him, Dabang retained Gaurav Chillar and Sandeep Deswal, who were spectacular for them in season 11.

Surjeet Singh and Saurabh Nandal are the other two additions to the squad, which makes the defence even stronger than before. Both of these defenders have extensive experience and will be extremely vital in the upcoming season.

Quality All-Rounders

Other than the raiders and the defenders, Dabang Delhi have put together a decent set of all-rounders. Ashish Sangwan, Arkam Sheikh, and Naveen are three experienced all-rounders who got included in the lineup in the auction. Amit is going to play his debut season in the PKL.

Defenders: Fazel Atrachali, Sandeep Deswal, Gaurav Chillar, Amir Hossein Bastami.
