PKL 12: Devank Dalal reveals reason behind his unique celebration against Manpreet Singh

Devank Dalal’s Bengal Warriorz register a big win over Haryana Steelers.
The second game of day three of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) produced a lot of drama. Bengal Warriorz put together a 10/10 performance against the defending champions, Haryana Steelers, and defeated them by a ten-point margin in Vizag.
Devank Dalal justified his price tag and scored 21 raid points. After the match, he made it to the headlines with a controversial celebration against Haryana Steelers’ head coach Manpreet Singh.
After the game, Devank Dalal and Bengal Warriorz’s head coach addressed the media.
First game as a captain
It was Devank Dalal’s first game as a captain. He shared his experience and said, “Look, the mindset was that the coach had said that we should play without any worries. We should not take pressure, and he had told me that the more I stay inside the court, the more beneficial it will be for the team.”
“I am happy with Manpreet’s performance. The support from the second raider is important, and he has supported me a lot and will continue to do so in the future too, so I am happy with him,” he added
Celebration against Manpreet Singh
Devank shared his feelings about his celebration against Manpreet Singh. He said, “Manpreet’s coach said that the one who gets the highest bid often flops. So, I had this in mind that let’s prove it today and make it clear that the one who bids the highest often gets the flop or even plays better than that.”
“It was my thought that saying such big words is not a good thing. It means that instead of demeaning someone, one should uplift them. This was wrong, and that’s why I celebrated. There is extra motivation because our coach has given me complete freedom, as I am the captain, and the team has to run according to me.”

Coaching the Bengal Warriorz
While sharing his views on coaching the Bengal Warriorz, Naveen Kumar said, “This is not my first stint in Pro Kabaddi. I worked as a coach in Pro Kabaddi two seasons ago. I was the coach of Telugu Titans in Season 5 and the coach of Tamil Thalaivas in Season 6.
“After a gap of 7-8 years, I have made a comeback in Pro Kabaddi with the Bengal Warriorz, and the target is to lift the trophy. We have an exceptional player in our team, Devank, who is carrying the entire load on his shoulders and running the team,” he added.
Thoughts ahead of the next game against Puneri Paltan
Head coach Naveen Kumar opened up about his thoughts on Puneri Paltan ahead of their next game. He said, “Puneri Paltan’s performance was excellent in the last match, and the team has many big faces, Aslam Inamdar, Aditya Shinde. They also played very well in the last match, and we will also make our plans against them and perform well.”
Reply to Manpreet Singh
Devank also shared why he did the celebration against Manpreet Singh, “I did this because Manpreet Coach, Sahab, had also said a lot of things. Last year, I said that we would turn the pages, so he did too much action. He turned the pages last season. Now I meant that yes, we have to win, so as soon as we won, I tore his pages. It does not suit Coach Sabah.”
“Above all, a player must not be humiliated. He will flop. So this is not a good thing. Instead of bringing someone down, one should lift him. So that is why I did this. Haa bacche, bacche hote hai or baap, baap, everybody knows how he played during his time, and now we know how we played during our time,” he added.
