PKL 12 Final: Top five best performers in summit clash

Dabang Delhi defeated Puneri Paltan 31-28 in the PKL 12 final.

The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) ended with Dabang Delhi clinching their second title on Friday at the Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi. They defeated Puneri Paltan in a thrilling final to lift the coveted trophy.

The match began with Delhi taking control early on, though Pune responded strongly with a couple of crucial super tackles.

However, Ajinkya Pawar turned the momentum in Delhi’s favour by taking out the last two defenders of Puneri, forcing an all-out. From there, Delhi built a solid lead and maintained it deep into the match.

In the closing minutes, Puneri managed to inflict a vital all-out on Delhi, swinging the momentum back in their favor. Aditya Shinde led the Paltan’s spirited comeback with some crucial raid points, but in the final minute, Fazel Atrachali, the “Sultan”, produced a decisive tackle to seal the victory for Delhi.

The final featured several moments of individual brilliance that left fans in awe. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five best performers of the PKL 12 Final between Dabang Delhi and Puneri Paltan.

5. Abinesh Nadarajan

Even though Puneri Paltan ended up on the losing side in the final, Abinesh was once again one of their biggest positives.

He scored 4 tackle points, effectively controlling the team’s defence. Abinesh pulled off two brilliant super tackles when Pune were trailing, showing great composure under pressure. However, despite his strong performance, his efforts weren’t enough to secure victory for Puneri Paltan.

4. Fazel Atrachali

Fazel Atrachali may have scored only one tackle point in the final, but it turned out to be the most crucial moment of the match. With Delhi’s lead reduced to just a single point and less than 40 seconds left on the clock, Aditya Shinde, who was in fine form, went in to raid hoping to equal the score and force another tiebreaker.

However, Fazel used his experience to perfection, executing a brilliant block that stopped Shinde and secured Dabang Delhi’s victory.

3. Ajinkya Pawar

Delhi’s captain Ashu Malik wasn’t in his best touch tonight, but Ajinkya Pawar ensured that the flow of raid points didn’t stop.

He provided much-needed support to Neeraj Narwal in attack, scoring 6 raid points in the match. Early in the game, his crucial raids helped inflict an all-out on Puneri Paltan, giving Dabang Delhi a vital lead.

2. Aditya Shinde

Aditya Shinde was the lone shining star for Puneri Paltan in raiding. He scored 10 raid points and played a vital role in their spirited comeback.

He almost dragged the game into a tie-breaker, but was tackled at a crucial moment. His valiant effort will be remembered by every Pune fan, even though it wasn’t enough to deliver their second title.

1. Neeraj Narwal

With Ashu Malik not at his best in terms of fitness and form, Neeraj Narwal took charge of the raiding department for Dabang Delhi. He scored 8 crucial raid points and even added 1 tackle point.

Neeraj looked unstoppable in the early stages, helping Delhi take the lead. He also pulled off a super raid against the Pune defenders and was undoubtedly the main reason behind Dabang Delhi’s victory in the Final.

Who is the top raider of PKL 12?

Ayan is the top raider with 316 raid points.

Who is the top defender of PKL 12?

Navdeep is the top defender with 73 tackle points.
