PKL 12: List of players released, retained by Gujarat Giants ahead of auction

Gujarat Giants finished in the second-last spot in the PKL 11.

Ram Mehar Singh’s Gujarat Giants had an extremely poor outing in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 11. They finished in the 11th position, just above Bengaluru Bulls. Aiming for a complete overhaul, the team released most of their players, except for making only four retentions for the upcoming PKL 12.

Gujarat Giants struggled from the beginning of the last season, and their bad run continued throughout the season. Giants’ most expensive purchase, Guman Singh, didn’t perform to expectations, and so did most of the players.

An astonishing decision came out on Saturday morning when the Giants didn’t retain Jitender Yadav, their most successful defender of the previous season. However, they did make four good retentions to move forward into the auction.

On that note, let us have a look at the list of players released, retained by the Gujarat Giants ahead of the PKL 12 auctions.

Guman Singh, Monu, Sombir, Vahid Rezaeimehr, Nitin, Neeraj Kumar, Harsh Mahesh Lad, Mohit, Manuj, Nitesh, Jitender Yadav, Balaji D, Mohammad Nabibaksh, Raj D Salunkhe, Rohan Singh, Aadesh Siwach

Gujarat Giants failed to make any impact in the previous season. However, they would want to make a different statement this time. Giants’ management has released Ram Mehar Singh from the head coach position. However, they haven’t announced their new coach yet.

In the upcoming auction, the Giants will focus on creating good combinations along with what they have after the retentions. They have retained a couple of raiders and a solid defender.

The Giants would be looking to strengthen their existing squad with some big names, along with some rising stars who had impressed in the recent past. It will be interesting to see how Gujarat Giants move from here, as they haven’t made big announcements yet.
