PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 16, Haryana Steelers vs UP Yoddhas

UP Yoddhas will be looking for three wins in a row.

After an exciting opening week, the Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) caravan has entered the second week. In the second week, we will have a blockbuster battle between the defending champions, Haryana Steelers, and the season 11 semifinalists, UP Yoddhas.

Haryana Steelers are coming to this match with high confidence after registering a comeback win against U Mumba. Led by a brilliant super raid of Naveen Kumar. Haryana triumphed over U Mumba to register their first win of the season. They will be looking to continue the winning momentum.

Meanwhile, UP Yoddhas will look to register a hat-trick of wins as they head into this match after a stunning victory over Patna Pirates.

Naveen Kumar vs Sumit Sangwan

Popularly known as Naveen Express, Naveen Kumar will be the key raider for Haryana Steelers. It was because of his effort that Haryana won the last game, thanks to a brilliant super raid by him, which enabled Haryana to inflict the all-out against U Mumba and come back in the match.

Naveen scored 9 points in that match. He will be hoping to repeat the same against UP. If the injury, which happened to him in the final moment of the match, isn’t serious, he will be a threat to the opposition.

On the other hand, Sumit Sangwan has been in the form of his life so far; he has scored 13 tackle points in two matches. He will be a key defender for the UP Yoddhas.

The way Sumit is playing this season, he is looking unstoppable and will be a major headache for the opposition. If Haryana needs to win, they need to stop him at any cost.

Gagan Gowda vs Jaideep Dhaiya

Gagan Gow has been performing well this season. He has scored 21 points in 2 matches and will be eyeing another super 10 in this match. His brilliant raiding skill will be useful for UP Yoddhas, and he needs to be stopped by Haryana’s defence.

The man who can stop Gagan is the captain of Haryana Steelers, Jaideep Dhaiya; the left cover, who has been quiet so far, scoring just 2 points, will be hoping for a better performance this time. However, he can make a comeback any time, and as the captain, his form is crucial for Haryana’s chances in this match.

Shivam Patare vs Ashu Singh

Shivam Patare has also impressed so far. He scored 23 raid points in 2 matches and will be looking to provide good support to Naveen. His brilliant raiding skills will be helpful for Haryana. His ability to turn the games in crucial situations with his impressive skills makes him the go-to man for Haryana’s raiding department.

On the other hand, the vice captain of UP Yoddhas, Ashu Singh, will be crucial. He has been performing well, having scored 7 points in 2 matches, including a high five in the last outing. The left cover will play a key role in stabilizing UP’s defence and will be looking to stop Haryana’s raider.
