PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 25, U Mumba vs Telugu Titans

Both teams will look to continue their winning momentum in PKL 12.

U Mumba are in stellar form from the commencement of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). They have won three of their four encounters and currently occupy first place in the points table. Sunil Kumar-led U Mumba lost a single match, and that too came in the tie-breaker against Haryana Steelers.

The first leg of the season is about to end, and U Mumba would be happy with the way things have gone for them. In their next match, the Mumba will face Telugu Titans on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

Despite facing consecutive losses to begin the season, the Telugu Titans have made a fantastic comeback with two successive wins. They are now placed in the fourth position with two wins and two losses.

U Mumba and Telugu Titans have strong defensive lineups. However, Telugu Titans are heavy on their all-rounders, and U Mumba’s raiders have shown some excellent skills and form recently.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the U Mumba and Telugu Titans in PKL 12.

Anil Mohan vs Bharat Hooda

Anil Mohan has been a tremendous addition to the U Mumba squad. He has worked well as an all-rounder and has brought points in some crucial moments throughout the season. He has scored 13 raid points and 2 tackle points in three matches. U Mumba will once again trust him and expect him to showcase another all-around performance.

On the other hand, Bharat Hooda has been a crucial addition to the Titans’ squad as well. They needed a suitable replacement after letting go of Pawan Sehrawat, and Bharat Hooda hasn’t disappointed yet. Hooda has scored 28 raid points, including a Super 10, and 6 tackle points as well.

His performance is getting better as the season progresses. In the last match, Hooda scored a Super 10, which helped them emerge victorious against Bengal Warriorz. These two all-rounders will play a big part in the upcoming encounter of the Mumba vs Titans clash.

Lokesh Ghosliya vs Vijay Malik

Telugu Titans‘ captain, Vijay Malik, has been phenomenal for his side. From his captaincy to playing the role of the main raider, he has excelled himself this year. Malik has scored 37 raid points in 4 matches, including two Super 10s. Moreover, he also plays a good role in the defence.

He began his captaincy journey in PKL last season as a replacement for Pawan Sehrawat, and since then, he has handled the responsibility well. If Malik doesn’t play well, it’s hard for the Titans to win, and that could be a drawback for them moving forward in the season.

As we discussed, stopping Malik may be equivalent to snatching the match in your favour. Lokesh Ghosliya will be the man to turn to for U Mumba. Ghosliya has been in stunning form this season. He has played beautifully on the left corner and has scored 15 tackle points in just 4 matches, making him the best this season.

Ghosliya will have a big responsibility, and if he can restrict the Telugu Titans’ captain in the upcoming contest, he might be the game-changer of the match.

Ajit Chouhan vs Ankit

Ajit Chouhan has been tremendous for U Mumba. He is probably the only raider for them who has continuously put pressure on the opponent’s defence.

Chouhan has 39 raid points in 4 matches, including 2 Super 10s. His 6-point raid in the previous game will be talked about for a long time. U Mumba’s raiding performance depends much on Chouhan, and this is where the Titans can take advantage and put pressure on U Mumba.

Telugu Titans will be eyeing the same. They would want to get Ajit Chouhan out and keep him on the bench for as long as they can. Titans’ defence has been pretty good this season, and they have worked as a team.

Ankit, who scored a High 5 against Bengal Warriorz and helped his team get over the line, will get the responsibility yet again. Ankit has scored 9 tackle points in 4 matches.

If Ankit can restrict Ajit Chouhan in the upcoming clash, Telugu Titans might get the upper hand.
