PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 26, UP Yoddhas vs Puneri Paltan

Both teams would want to finish the Vizag leg with a win.

The second match of Day 13 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) features UP Yoddhas facing Puneri Paltan. Both teams have lost their last game and will be looking to get back on the winning track.

UP Yoddhas have started the season on a high note, winning back-to-back matches. However, they suffered a loss against the Haryana Steelers in their last game. Their defence wasn’t up to par, and they will be hoping for a better performance in defence this time as they aim to bounce back stronger.

Similarly, Puneri Paltan, who started the season with a hat trick of wins, lost their last two successive matches and will be desperate to get back on the winning ways. Pune lost their previous encounter in a one-sided fashion against the Patna Pirates. Pune will be eager to bounce back stronger in this match.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the UP Yoddhas and Puneri Paltan in PKL 12.

Gagan Gowda vs Gaurav Khatri

UP Yoddhas‘ main raider, Gagan, has been in brilliant form this season. He has scored 34 raid points in 3 matches and has been the best performer for UP so far.

He scored 13 points in the last game and will be hoping to repeat the same in this match. Pune needs to make a plan to stop Gagan from scoring raid points

The defender who can stop Gagan Gowda is Gaurav Khatri. Gaurav has scored 14 points in 5 matches and is the best defender for Puneri Paltan. Even though he failed to score a single tackle point in the last game. However, with the kind of player Gaurav is, one can never count him out. He is the backbone of Pune’s defence and will be looking to get back in form.

Hitesh vs Aditya Shinde

The right corner specialist, Hitesh, has done a marvellous job in the previous outing, scoring 4 points against Haryana Steelers. He was the only UP defender who looked in the rhythm against Haryana. Hitesh will be looking for a similar performance this time and poses a threat to Pune’s young raiding unit.

On the other hand, Pune’s young raider Aditya Shinde has been the best raider for Puneri Paltan. He has scored 36 raid points in 5 matches. Once again, the raiding opportunity will be on his shoulder, and he will play a crucial role in stopping UP’s defence.

Sumit Sangwan vs Aslam Inamdar

The best defender for UP Yoddhas, Sumit, will be the player to watch out for in this match. He has scored 15 points in 3 matches. However, in the last game, he looked a bit off colour and will be looking to do better in this match. The left corner will be lethal for UP and can be a headache for Pune’s raiding unit if he regains his form

Captain Aslam Inamdar is a crucial player for Puneri Paltan. He needs to step up to take Puneri to the finish line. After managing a single point in the last match, Aslam will be looking to bounce back stronger, and if Pune wants to win, Aslam must rise to the occasion.
