PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 3, Telugu Titans vs UP Yoddhas

UP Yoddhas will play their season opener against the home side, Telugu Titans.

The Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) has started. It is expected that this season will reach new heights of success. After a thrilling Day 1, fans are eagerly waiting for Day 2 of PKL 12. In the first match of the second day, UP Yoddhas will face the hosts, Telugu Titans.

The Titans will play their second match of the season on consecutive days, whereas UP Yoddhas will play their season opener. The Yoddhas are coming into this season with a lot of confidence from a strong performance in the previous season.

On the other hand, Telugu Titans displayed a decent performance but missed the playoffs by a narrow margin.

Both teams have retained their core strength, including their captains from the previous seasons. The Titans and the Yoddhas have strong leaders on their teams, who will be trying to get them into the playoffs once again. With strong lineups on both ends, we can expect an exciting encounter tomorrow.

Although the teams have several match-winners on their teams, here are the player battles to watch out for in the clash of Titans and Yoddhas. On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Telugu Titans and UP Yoddhas.

Bharat Hooda vs Hitesh

Bharat Hooda and Hitesh used to score tackle points together in the previous season. However, this season, they will be scoring against each other. Hooda played for the UP Yoddhas last season and was a crucial all-rounder for the side. In PKL 12, UP Yoddhas have gone in with all specialists and no all-rounders.

In the PKL career of 87 matches, Hooda has scored 599 raid points, including 28 Super 10s, and 37 tackle points. It will be a real test for him as the Yoddhas have a stellar defence, which has proven itself in the previous season.

Hitesh will be guarding the right corner, and the fans can expect the duo of Hitesh and Sumit to roar once again in Season 12. In his short PKL career, Hitesh has scored 105 tackle points, including 10 High 5s, in just 40 matches.

Guman Singh vs Shubham Shinde

Guman Singh has been one of the raiders to watch out for in the previous few seasons. Although he had an average Season 11, the Yoddhas roped him in for a whopping 1.073 crores.

It will be interesting to see how he approaches this season with his new franchise. In his PKL career, Singh has scored 559 raid points, including 26 Super 10s.

On the other side, Shubham Shinde will have the responsibility to keep Singh under pressure and keep him out of rhythm.

Shinde is also playing for a new franchise this season, and it could be a challenge for him to adjust to a new defence structure. Despite these challenges, Shinde has the experience to deal with them. Shinde has scored 207 tackle points, including 09 High 5s, in 106 matches.

Vijay Malik vs Sumit Sangwan

The battle of the captains. Vijay Malik has been one of the most reliable players for the Titans in the previous season. With the addition of the new players, it will be interesting to see how his role changes.

He has been an extremely balanced all-rounder with exceptional skills in both departments. Malik has 581 raid points, including 18 Super 10s, and 92 tackle points, including a High 5, in his PKL career.

On the other hand, Sumit is a solid defender who took his team into the playoffs. Not just as a leader, Sangwan has been a brilliant defender for the Yoddhas since his debut. The franchise has nurtured him, and he has returned every bit of the favour with his exceptional defending.

In 112 PKL matches, Sangwan has scored 326 tackle points, including 24 High 5s, and might cross the 400 mark before the season ends. The battle between these captains is definitely the most anticipated one to watch in this match.
