PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 37, Telugu Titans vs Dabang Delhi

Dabang Delhi will look to maintain their unbeaten streak in PKL 12 against Telugu Titans.

The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) is in its second leg, and Dabang Delhi have yet to be beaten. That shows the dominance Ashu Malik’s Dabang Delhi have had in season 12. Delhi looked phenomenal and completely balanced in all departments, which has led to this outcome.

Delhi will play their first match of the second leg on September 17, 2025, against Telugu Titans. On the other hand, Telugu Titans had a decent first leg. However, they have had a shaky start to the second leg. They faced defeat in both their outings in Jaipur by narrow margins.

Dabang Delhi currently stands in the second position with 5 out of 5 wins, whereas the Titans are in the fifth position with three wins and four losses. Going into the match, both teams will look to clinch their first win in the second leg.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Telugu Titans and Dabang Delhi in PKL 12.

Vijay Malik vs Saurabh Nandal

Telugu Titans’ captain, Vijay Malik, has been leading the troops from the front. Malik has performed efficiently in almost every match and has led the raiding department pretty well.

He has scored 58 raid points in 7 games, including 2 Super 10s, and will be crucial once again against Dabang Delhi. On the other hand, the responsibility of stopping Malik will be on Saurabh Nandal.

Nandal is an experienced left corner and has done well this season as well. He has worked in synchronization with Fazel Atrachali on the other corner and has scored 13 tackle points, with an impressive tackle success rate of 59%.

Vijay Malik likes to attack the right corner and even steal bonus points in that area. If Nandal can restrict Malik from stealing those bonus points and put pressure on him, he might be able to cause a ruckus in the opposition.

On the other hand, if Malik can dominate the right corner and get him out effectively, Dabang Delhi’s defence might crack.

Bharat Hooda vs Fazel Atrachali

Bharat Hooda has been a tremendous addition to the Titans’ squad. He is equally crucial for the Titans’ success in raiding as Malik.

Hooda has scored 64 raid points, including 4 Super 10s, and has even contributed to the defence with 8 tackle points. He has been a complete player and will be lethal if he finds his rhythm against Delhi.

However, it won’t be that easy because he will be against the best and most experienced defensive structure of Season 12. Fazel Atrachali has once again found his form this season. The experienced campaigner is looking strong this season with 15 tackle points, including 2 High 5s.

If Atrachali can dominate the raiders once again and keep Bharat Hooda off-court, then Delhi might steal the victory.

Ashu Malik vs Ankit

Ashu Malik has once again dominated the defence of every opposition that has come his way. Malik has scored 75 raid points in 5 matches, and has scored a Super 10 in every single match.

Stopping him from getting a Super 10 can almost mean a victory for Telugu Titans in this clash. But do the Titans have any defenders who can take the initiative?

It seems unlikely with the young defense of the Titans. However, with the current form, Ankit looks like a good candidate. Moreover, Ashu likes to target the left corner, and Ankit can strategise his moves accordingly to get the star raider with the help of his strong ankle holds.

Ankit has scored 14 tackle points, including a High 5, this season. If he, along with the other defenders, can create pressure on Ashu and get him out as often as possible, the Telugu Titans will have a massive chance of winning the battle against Delhi.
