PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 39, Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Bengal Warriorz

Both teams will look to continue their winning momentum in PKL 12.

The hosts, Jaipur Pink Panthers, have had a mixed start to the second leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). After losing a low-scoring contest against Bengaluru Bulls, they defeated UP Yoddhas convincingly the next day.

On the other hand, Bengal Warriorz, who had been struggling since the beginning, defeated UP Yoddhas in their previous match as well. Both teams are coming into this match after beating the Yoddhas and have found a couple of key combinations. The Pink Panthers and Warriorz will look to implement these combinations with more vigor in their upcoming matches.

The eyes will once again be on the young main raiders of both teams, Devank Dalal and Nitin Dhankhar, who have been taking the lead all along. Currently, the Panthers are in the seventh position, whereas the Warriorz have jumped to the tenth position after their last victory.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Jaipur Pink Panthers and Bengal Warriorz in PKL 12.

Ali Samadi vs Nitesh Kumar

Ali Samadi turned out to be a brilliant second raider in the previous encounter. Samadi almost scored a Super 10; he missed by one point in the end. Samadi’s contribution in that match was much needed, as he scored most of his points in the first half when Nitin Dhankhar struggled for a bit.

If Samadi can continue his form and support Dhankhar in the raiding department with regular 6-10 points, the Panthers will be more than happy.

On the other hand, Nitesh Kumar will be once again in the limelight against the Panthers. He is one of their most experienced defenders and has shown glimpses of good rhythm lately.

He has scored 10 tackle points in 5 matches, which is quite rare considering his stature, but he has been getting into form in recent matches, which is a positive sign for the Warriorz.

Nitin Dhankhar vs Ashish Malik

Nitin Dhankhar has been the standout player for the Panthers, without a doubt. He is among the top raiders this season, and once again will have a big responsibility on his shoulders. On the other hand, Ashish Malik from Bengal Warriorz made a stellar statement with his 6-point finish in the previous match.

Malik scored some jaw-dropping tackle points and looked lethal with his advanced tackles. If he can do the same against the Jaipur Pink Panthers and restrict Dhankhar and Samadi, he will make the job much easier for Devank.

Dhankhar has scored 74 raid points in 6 matches, including 5 Super 10s. While Malik has got 17 tackle points in 5 games, including 3 High 5s. The winner of this battle will undoubtedly play a significant role in determining the match’s outcome.

Devank Dalal vs Reza Mirbagheri

Coming to the final and most important battle of the match. Devank Dalal has been unstoppable. Not just in this season, he has been unstoppable since last season. In PKL 12, Dalal has scored 76 raid points, including 5 Super 10s. None of the opposition has yet been successful in restricting the “Dhaakad” Devank.

If the Panthers want any chance of dominating the Warriorz, they need to keep Devank off the court for as long as possible. In doing so, their most experienced defender, Reza Mirbagheri, will have to shoulder the responsibility.

He has looked good in the last few matches, and definitely has the capabilities to stop powerful defenders like Devank.

Mirbagheri has scored 13 tackle points in 6 matches, and if he can get into the rhythm like he was in the previous clash, we must be ready to see a brilliant clash coming our way.
