PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 41, Puneri Paltan vs Haryana Steelers

Defending champions Haryana Steelers have been looking pretty strong in the last couple of matches in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). Their raiding department seems to have clicked well, even in the absence of Naveen Kumar.

Additionally, their defence has shown some exciting moves in the previous game, allowing them to dominate their opponents. In their upcoming contest, they will face Season 10 champions Puneri Paltan, who are also in fabulous form.

Ajay Thakur’s Paltan have been dominating their opponents in both the defence and raiding departments. Aslam Indamdar is leading the team phenomenally and is getting complete support from his team.

Puneri Paltan stands in the first position with six wins and two losses. On the other hand, Haryana Steelers stand in the fourth position with four wins and two losses. Both teams are in good form. However, Puneri Paltan’s win against U Mumba must have given them a ton of confidence.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers in PKL 12.

Vinay Tewatia vs Vishal Bharadwaj

Vinay Tewatia has been one of the best raiders for Haryana Steelers since his debut in Season 7. However, he hasn’t been in his best rhythm this season. Manpreet Singh can always put a bet on Vinay. He has scored 36 raid points in 5 matches this season, including a Super 10. Against the strong defence of Puneri Paltan, Vinay’s contribution is going to be crucial.

Puneri Paltan’s defence performed brilliantly against U Mumba, and a big reason for this was Vishal Bhardwaj. Bharadwaj has been stellar this season. He has scored 17 tackle points in 7 matches, including 2 High 5s.

If Bharadwaj can once again do the same and dominate in the defence, the Steelers’ raiders will have to struggle for every point.

Shivam Patare vs Gaurav Khatri

Shivam Patare has been the raider of the season for Haryana Steelers. He has scored points in difficult situations and has kept the Steelers going. Shivam has scored 54 raid points so far in this season.

On the other hand, Gaurav Khatri will be another massive challenge for the Steelers. Khatri has been phenomenal in the right corner and has scored 26 tackle points in 7 matches, including 3 High 5s. His combination with Bharadwaj is a big reason the Paltan is at the top of the points table.

Rahul Sethpal vs Aslam Inamdar

Aslam Inamdar has been the backbone of the Puneri Paltan. He has led the team with grace and has gotten every player to contribute to their wins.

Apart from his captaincy, Inamdar has performed well in both defence and raiding. He has scored 30 raid points and 6 tackle points in 7 matches. His contribution in every aspect will once again matter against the Steelers.

For the Steelers, the eyes will be on every brilliant defender they have. However, Rahul Sethpal has been the standout defender for them in many ways. Sethpal has led the defence on many occasions and has done it really well. He has scored 18 tackle points in 6 matches and is one of the most reliable defenders for the Steelers.

If he can once again assemble the Steelers’ defence and make the Paltan’s raiders struggle, who are not in good form either, then Haryana Steelers can have the upper hand against the Paltan.
