PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 46, Tamil Thalaivas vs UP Yoddhas

Both teams will be looking to bounce back stronger after a couple of defeats in PKL 12.

Day 23 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) promises a phenomenal match between Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddhas. It will be between Arjun Deshwal and the strong defence of UP Yoddhas.

Both Tami Thalaivas and UP Yoddhas are struggling with their form and are positioned in the lower half of the points table.

After winning the first two matches, UP Yoddhas had a disappointing run, losing four consecutive matches, and they will be desperate to bounce back. In the last meeting, they lost to Bengal Warriorz in a high-scoring match and will be looking to make a fresh start on the mat against Thalaivas.

On the other hand, Tamil Thalaivas are coming off back-to-back losses. Their overreliance on Arjun Deshwal is making things tough for them, as none of the other raiders or the defenders can revive him. Their defensive woes continue, as it’s a huge concern for them. In the last match, they lost to the Haryana Steelers.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddhas in PKL 12.

Arjun Deshwal vs Sumit Sangwan

Arjun Deshwal bounced back in the last match and scored a super 10, but unfortunately, he couldn’t help his team win the match. However, this time against UP Yoddhas, he will be desperate to deliver a match-winning performance. He will be the key man for the Thalaivas and will be looking to shatter the strong defensive lineup of UP Yoddhas.

On the other hand, the best defender of the Yoddhas, Sumit Sangwan, will stand in Arjun’s way and will be looking to tackle the leader of the Thalaivas’ raiding department. In the last match, he wasn’t at his best, managing just a single tackle point; his form will be crucial for UP, and he will be keen to deliver a strong defensive performance.

Nitesh Kumar vs Gagan Gowda

The Tamil Thalaivas‘ defence hasn’t been doing well since the last few matches. They are in a desperate situation and would really want their defensive unit to perform well. Now, all the hopes rely on Nitesh Kumar, their most successful defender of the season.

Nitesh needs to find his form and would also need to lead by example for the other defenders as well. If Tamil needs to win the match, Nitesh’s form will be crucial for them, and they would be expecting him to deliver a strong defensive performance.

On the other hand, UP Yoddhas, the most successful raider of the season, Gagan Gowda, had a disappointing last match, where he could manage only 7 points (which includes a single touch point). He will be looking to bounce back stronger and will be hoping to deliver a match-winning performance for the team. He has scored 69 points in 6 matches.

Himanshu vs Shivam Chaudhary

Himanshu scored 3 tackle points in the last match and showed some great form, but it wasn’t enough to help his team win the match. He will be hoping to perform well against UP Yoddhas and will be keen to deliver a high five this time. Himanshu will also be looking to provide crucial support in the defence.

On the other hand, Shivam Chaudhary had a decent last match, where he managed 7 points and will be looking to provide good support to Gagan Gowda against Tamil Thalaivas. Shivam has shown some signs of promise and will be looking to help his team cross the finish line.
