PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 55, Telugu Titans vs Patna Pirates

Telugu Titans will look to continue their winning momentum in PKL 12 against Patna Pirates.

Telugu Titans have had a decent first half in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). The Titans have won 5 matches and lost 5 as well. They are currently in the fourth position with 10 points. They will need to bring more consistency to their performances to stay in the top 4.

Telugu Titans will face Patna Pirates on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in their first match of the Chennai leg. On the other hand, the Pirates are one of the teams with potential that have not been successful so far. They have the likes of Maninder Singh, Ayan Lohchab, Ankit Jaglan, and Deepak Singh, but they haven’t found rhythm.

If they perform well in a match, they haven’t been able to finish it well, making them one of the teams at the bottom of the table. The Pirates are currently in the eleventh position with just two wins and six losses in eight matches. They have a small window to make a comeback in this season, as the top 8 teams will get another chance to move forward.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Telugu Titans and Patna Pirates in PKL 12.

Ayan Lohchab vs Ankit

Ayan Lohchab has once again been phenomenal for Patna Pirates. He has played some brilliant matches so far. Lohchab has scored 91 raid points in 8 games, including 4 Super 10s, and has been their go-to raider.

He has received little support from other raiders so far. Ayan will once again have to take responsibility and lead the raiding department from the front against the Titans.

On the other hand, Ankit has been tremendous for Telugu Titans on the left corner. His ankle holds and aggressive back holds have been his key moves, and he has been able to raise challenges for the raiders. Ankit has scored 23 tackle points in 10 matches, including a High 5.

If Ankit can contribute once again and restrict Ayan from putting pressure on the Pirates, he might get half the job done for his team.

Vijay Malik vs Ankit Jaglan

The battle of the captains will be yet again a key battle to watch out for. Vijay Malik has been the backbone of the Titans this season as well. He has led the raiding department brilliantly and has also contributed significantly in defence. He has scored 80 raid points in 10 matches, including 3 Super 10s.

On the other hand, the Pirates’ captain, Ankit Jaglan, has played solidly in the last few matches. He has gone for aggressive tackles without any hesitation, and it has worked in their favor most of the time. Jaglan has scored 24 tackle points in 8 matches, including 2 High 5s.

He will be expected to once again defend with the same aggression and get the better of the Titans’ raiding department. The battle of the captains will be vital, as it will decide the match’s outcome.

Bharat Hooda vs Navdeep

Bharat Hooda has been tremendous this season. He has looked like his old self and has contributed in all departments in important junctures of the game. Hooda has scored 82 raid points in 10 matches, including 4 Super 10s. Moreover, he has also got 10 tackle points, along with several assists.

He has definitely been their most valuable player of the season so far. If he can continue his rhythm and bring quick raid points in the beginning, the off-form Patna Pirates might feel the pressure soon, and it can benefit the Telugu Titans.

For the Pirates, the young right corner, Navdeep, will have the responsibility to restrict Hooda from getting the success he is expected to.

Hooda steals bonuses and toe touches on the right corner comparatively more. If Navdeep can stop him, he can put Telugu Titans under pressure. Navdeep has scored 17 tackle points in 8 matches, and can do a lot more than that.
