PKL 12: Will Sagar Rathee play against Jaipur Pink Panthers tonight?

Sagar Rathee suffered an injury during Tamil Thalaivas’ pre-season camp ahead of PKL 12.

The Jaipur leg of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) is set to conclude on Saturday, September 27. The caravan will then move to Chennai, where the third leg is scheduled to take place from Monday, September 29, to Friday, October 10.

Tamil Thalaivas are set to take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers in match 52 of the Pro Kabaddi 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, on Saturday.

The Thalaivas are placed ninth with six points from eight matches, including three wins and five losses. They have a score difference of -26. The Chennai-based franchise had mixed results in the Jaipur leg, winning the first couple of matches before suffering three back-to-back losses.

Meanwhile, the two-time champions Jaipur Pink Panthers are placed fifth in the PKL 2025 standings with 10 points and a score difference of eight. They have won five matches and lost three thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

With the return of their star defender Sagar Rathee, Tamil Thalaivas have received a huge boost ahead of their upcoming clash against the Pink Panthers. But the question is, will he play against the Jaipur Pink Panthers?

Will Sagar Rathee play tonight?

Sagar Rathee missed seven matches for the Tamil Thalaivas due to an injury he suffered during the pre-season camp. However, the franchise confirmed his return for the remaining matches of the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Sagar Rathee has been a key defender for the Tamil Thalaivas, and the coach will look to bring him straight back onto the mat for their next match on Saturday. They might use him as a substitute player if they don’t want to rush him with a full game time.

However, he is surely going to be a vital cog for the Thalaivas in their home leg, starting next week. Sagar was the key link the franchise was missing in their defence, costing them several close encounters.

The Indian defender played one match this season against the Gujarat Giants, the third match of the season, where he was substituted off after scoring one tackle point.
