PKL 12: Will Sagar Rathee & Narender Kandola play against U Mumba tonight?

Both players missed Tamil Thalaivas’ previous encounter in PKL 2025.

Home team Tamil Thalaivas are set to lock horns with Season 2 champions U Mumba in match 58 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) on Wednesday, October 1, at the SDAT multi-purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

Tamil Thalaivas and U Mumba are placed eighth and ninth, respectively, in the PKL 2025 standings. Both franchises have won four matches and lost five each from nine encounters thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

The Chennai-based franchise placed above U Mumba due to a better score difference. They have a score difference of -17, while the PKL Season 2 champions have a score difference of -23.

Tamil Thalaivas have missed the services of defender Sagar Rathee for a long time, while Narender Kandola was also absent from the previous match. With their Chennai leg campaign beginning today, let’s take a look at the possibility of both players being included in the lineup.

Will Sagar Rathee & Narender Kandola play tonight?

Tamil Thalaivas star defender Sagar Rathee joined the squad ahead of their previous game against the Jaipur Pink Panthers. However, the team management chose to rest him for one more match, allowing him additional time to regain full match fitness.

Sagar missed eight out of nine matches so far this season, owing to an injury he suffered during the pre-season training camp with the franchise. The Indian defender returned to action, featuring briefly against the Gujarat Giants during the Thalaivas’ third match of the season.

He is likely to be seen playing against U Mumba on Wednesday. They might use him as a substitute player if they don’t want to rush him with a full game time.

Meanwhile, Narender Kandola missed Tamil Thalaivas’ last match of the Jaipur leg against the hosts, Jaipur Pink Panthers, due to a fever. The raider is expected to have recovered and is available for selection against the Mumbai-based franchise on October 1.

Narender has earned 25 points, including 19 raid points and six tackle points in six matches so far this season.
