PKL 12: Patna Pirates full squad list ft. Maninder Singh

Patna Pirates became the first team to exercise the two-year FBM option in PKL 12 auction.

Patna Pirates have built a strong-looking squad ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League season 12 (PKL 12). They entered the auction with 70% of their purse remaining and a minimum of seven spots to fulfill the squad’s criteria. They were expected to go big on one of the star raiders, but coach Anup Kumar had other ideas as they invested heavily in their defense.

They spent a whopping 1.5725 cr to retain the services of Ankit Jaglan using the Final Bid Match card. The all-rounder will look to continue his wonderful career with the Patna Pirates. They created history by becoming the first team to use the Final Bid Match option for two years, with the retention of Deepak Singh for 86 lakhs.

Patna will aim to win their fourth title in PKL 12

With the addition of Sanket Sawant, their defense appears lethal, featuring the likes of Balasaheb Jadhav, Amir Ghorbhani, and Navdeep, who support the trio. Having let go of Devank Dalal, they got the experienced Maninder Singh at the base price. The Mighty Mani hasn’t been at his mightiest best in recent years, but he will rely on coach Anup Kumar to regain his magic touch.

Ayan Lohchab will look to prove that he is not a one-season wonder. The left-raider won the New Young Player of the season award last year and will relish working with Maninder Singh.

Sudhakar M will be their third raider, who had a good season 10 but spent most of last year on the bench. With a great mix of youth and experience in the squad, Patna will be a serious contender for the season. On that note, let’s look at the full squad of the Patna Pirates for PKL 12.
