PKL 12: Pawan Sehrawat reacts after Arjun Deshwal & Sanjeev Baliyan criticise Tamil Thalaivas' management

Arjun Deshwal and Sanjeev Baliyan leveled serious allegations against the management of Tamil Thalaivas.

Tamil Thalaivas’ league stage campaign ends, and their hopes for a top 8 qualification in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) now rest entirely on the results of other teams. It has been a disappointing season for the Thalaivas, who managed to win only 6 of their 18 matches.

They were considered one of the strongest teams on paper after the auction, with star players like Arjun Deshwal and Pawan Sehrawat joining the squad. However, what followed was a series of underwhelming performances and internal controversies that derailed their season.

After their season ended, the team’s former captain, Pawan Sehrawat, who was released midway through the tournament due to disciplinary action, posted a cryptic message on Instagram. Let’s try to understand this whole controversy.

Why did Tamil Thalaivas release Pawan Sehrawat?

Pawan Sehrawat was bought by the Tamil Thalaivas in the auction and was appointed as the team’s captain. However, after a few matches, the team struggled on the mat, and suddenly reports emerged that Pawan would not be traveling with the Thalaivas to Jaipur.

Later, the Tamil Thalaivas officially announced on social media that Pawan would not be part of the squad for the remainder of the season due to disciplinary reasons. They added that the decision was made after careful consideration and in alignment with the team’s code of conduct.

Pawan Sehrawat came forward and posted a video on Instagram in which he denied all allegations made by the Tamil Thalaivas. He stated firmly that if the team could provide proof for any of the claims against him, he would quit playing kabaddi.

Pawan also stated that he and Arjun Deshwal were aligned in their efforts and had plans to lead the team forward, but a specific member of management hampered their dreams.

Arjun Deshwal & Sanjeev Baliyan’s bold statement

After their final game against the Bengal Warriorz, Tamil Thalaivas head coach Sanjeev Baliyan and captain Arjun Deshwal faced the media and dropped some shocking revelations about the inner workings of the Thalaivas management.

They claimed that neither the coach nor the captain had any authority to select the starting 7, with unfit players being given game time while fully fit players sat on the bench.

According to them, the team analyst was making all the decisions, leaving the coach powerless, and the management was not aligned with either the coach or the captain.

Pawan Sehrawat’s Insta Post

The press conference of Arjun Deshwal and coach Sanjeev Baliyan quickly went viral on social media, grabbing widespread attention.

Following this, Pawan Sehrawat posted on Instagram, quoting, “The truth can be hidden, but it can’t be suppressed,” in three languages: Tamil, Hindi, and English.

In his caption, he also mentioned that he would soon share all the facts related to the controversy. He also said that no one should go through such a situation again, and the fans’ emotions cannot be cheated.
