U Mumba and Patna Pirates will play the second Play-In match of PKL 12.

A battle of two former champions and two of the most consistent sides awaits on Saturday in the second play-in of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). In the Play-in 2, sixth-placed U Mumba will face the seventh-placed Patna Pirates at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi.

The loser of the game will be knocked out, while the winner of this game will face the winner of Play-In 1 between Harayana Steelers and Jaipur Pink Panthers in the next round.

These teams have a tough journey ahead as they need to win six matches in a row to win the PKL 12 title.

U Mumba vs Patna Pirates head-to-head:

  • Matches: 26

U Mumba might have won three of the last four encounters between these two sides, but Patna’s only win in this period came in the semi-finals last year.

Players to watch out for

U Mumba – Sunil Kumar

U Mumba might have a strong squad on paper, but they have certainly punched above their weight in many games thanks to the impressive captaincy of Sunil Kumar.

The cover defender has not only guarded the defensive unit but also guided his team in crunch situations. He will be the biggest threat for Patna on Saturday.

Patna Pirates – Ayan Lohchab

Ayan has been the standout performer for the Patna Pirates this season. He currently holds the second position on the list of leading raid point scorers and has maintained excellent form throughout the campaign.

His performance will be crucial against U Mumba in this important match to secure a place in the next round of the Playoffs.

Possible Starting 7

U Mumba –  Sandeep, Amirmohammad Zafardanesh, Parvesh Bhainswal, Sunil Kumar, Ajit Chouhan, Rinku Sharma, Vijay Kumar.

Patna Pirates – Milan Dahiya, Ayan Lohchab, Ankit Rana, Deepak Singh, Balaji D, Navdeep, Ankit Jaglan.

Match Prediction

U Mumba will be the favourites in this match, given their experience of playing big matches and the way they have performed in close encounters this season.

Patna Pirates bounced back very well, but apart from Ayan, no other player has been able to impress much with their performance, which might cost them.
