PKL 12 Play-Ins: Which four teams are in best place to qualify?

The battle for PKL 12 Play-Ins is getting very exciting.

The Delhi leg of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) is proving to be the pressure cooker everyone expected, and the battle for the final Play-Ins spots has reached a fever pitch.

With the league stage drawing to a close, a handful of teams are locked in a desperate, chaotic scramble for survival. Every match is now a virtual final, where a single misstep can bring a season’s hard work to an end.

With only a handful of matches left, every single raid and every single tackle can now decide a team’s fate. On that note, let’s take a look at Khel Now’s predicted top four teams for the PKL 12 Play-Ins, which will be played in Delhi.

4. Gujarat Giants

Gujarat Giants haven’t had a great season so far. They acquired Mohammadreza Shadloui in the auction for ₹2.23 crore and appointed him as captain, but things haven’t gone as planned, with the team winning only 6 of their 15 matches.

However, they have won their last two games and seem to be finding form at the right time. To stay in contention for the playoffs, the Giants will need to win almost all of their remaining matches, as they currently sit 8th on the points table.

3. Jaipur Pink Panthers

The two-time champions, Jaipur Pink Panthers, have also had a mixed season. At times, they’ve played brilliantly, while on other occasions, the team has struggled to find rhythm. The Pink Panthers are heavily dependent on their star raider Nitin Dhankhar. In Nitin’s absence, they lost four consecutive matches.

They have won 7 out of the 15 matches so far and are currently placed 7th on the points table. Jaipur will need at least 2 more wins to secure their spot in the top eight.

2. U Mumba

U Mumba started the season strongly but hit a rough patch midway, struggling with form for a few games. However, it didn’t take them long to bounce back and return to their winning ways.

They have won 8 out of the 15 matches they’ve played so far and currently sit 6th on the points table. With just 2-3 more victories, they might secure their spot in the top 4.

1. Haryana Steelers

The defending champions, Haryana Steelers, started the season strongly and were performing well until the Chennai leg, where they suffered five consecutive losses that completely changed their qualification scenario. What once looked like a sure-shot qualification has now become a bit complicated.

The Steelers have won 8 of the 15 matches they’ve played so far and will need to win at least 3 of their remaining 3 games to secure a place in the top 4. However, if the Steelers lose, they will have to play the play-ins.

When is the PKL 12 final?

PKL 12 final is on October 31.

How many teams have qualified for the top 8 of PKL 12?

So far, Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi have sealed their place in the top 8.
