Bengal Warriorz will aim for a complete rebuild at the PKL 12 auction.

Bengal Warriorz had a dismal campaign last season in the Pro Kabaddi League, finishing 10th despite boasting a squad filled with star players. On paper, they looked like one of the strongest teams, but their performance on the mat was a different story. The team struggled with coordination and failed to function effectively as a single unit.

Veteran raider Maninder Singh, an old member of the Bengal Warriorz setup, had an underwhelming season due to injuries and inconsistency. In the defensive department, Bengal have released all their main players and will be looking to rebuild their squad from scratch.

What came as a major surprise was the release of Fazel Atrachali, Nitesh Kumar, and Nitin Dhankhar, one of the few positives from an otherwise forgettable campaign. Nitin has impressed in whatever chances he has had, scoring 118 raid points in 14 matches.

Fazel scored 59 tackle points in 19 games, while Nitesh accumulated 59 points in 21 appearances. They parted ways with head coach Prashant Surve and appointed Naveen Kumar as their new head coach.

Bengal Warriorz had already made up their minds to start everything from scratch and will be looking to assemble a great squad at the Pro Kabaddi League Auction. Let’s look at the players that Bengal Warriorz can target in the PKL 12 Auction.

Mohammadreza Shadloui

They have released their left corner, Fazel Attrachali, and will be looking for a like-for-like replacement for him, and what could be better than the Iranian star player Mohammadreza Shadloui? His addition could solidify Bengal’s defence and offer them an X factor in the raiding department as well.

Mohammadreza Shadloui was a vital member of the Haryana Steelers’ historic title-winning Pro Kabaddi League campaign last season. He scored the highest tackle points last season with 82 tackle points in 24 matches. Moreover, he provides an X factor for Bengal Warriorz with his raiding ability as well and can help the team in case the top raiders are out.

Arjun Deshwal

Bengal Warriorz are also in need of a dependable and dynamic raider, especially after releasing their Nitin and Maninder. Arjun Deshwal, the third-best raider in the league last season with 227 points in 23 matches, could be the perfect replacement.

He single-handedly carried the raiding department for Jaipur and also has leadership qualities to lead the Bengal side. His inclusion could provide the team with stability and star power in attack.

Nitin Dhankar

Despite being the top raider for Bengal Warriorz last season, Nitin Dhankhar’s release was a surprising decision. However, the team still has the option to use the Final Bid Match (FBM) card to bring him back. Nitin has shown immense promise over the last two seasons.

In his debut season, he racked up 169 raid points in 20 matches, impressing everyone. His ability to play both as the lead and supporting raider makes him a versatile and valuable option. Bengal should make every effort to bring him back into the squad.
