PKL 12: Three players Telugu Titans should target in auction

Telugu Titans finished seventh in the standings last season.

After consistently finishing at the bottom of the table for several seasons, even with some of the biggest names in their squad, the Telugu Titans finally turned things around in Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Though they narrowly missed out on a playoff spot, Telugu Titans’ performance was far more competitive, with several close losses that highlighted their fighting spirit.

A major reason behind this turnaround was head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda, whose vast experience and tactical acumen previously helped Dabang Delhi clinch their maiden PKL title. Recognising his impact, the Telugu Titans management have decided to retain him for Season 12.

With an eye on building a stronger and more balanced squad, here are three players the Telugu Titans should consider targeting in the upcoming PKL 12 auction:

3. Yogesh Dahiya

One of the brightest young defenders in the league, Yogesh Dahiya, has made a strong impact as a right corner for Dabang Delhi. Like Naveen, he also entered the league as an NYP (New Young Player) and has previously played under Krishan Kumar Hooda’s guidance.

With youth on his side and strong defensive skills, Yogesh is a long-term investment. Last season, the Titans tried to secure Krishan Dhull for this position but were unsuccessful. This time around, Yogesh could be the ideal choice to solidify the right corner, especially with his past connection to Coach Hooda.

2. Naveen Kumar

Naveen Kumar has been a cornerstone for Dabang Delhi KC, not only delivering stellar performances but also leading the team to their first PKL title. Interestingly, Naveen was scouted and introduced to the league by none other than Krishan Kumar Hooda, under whom he flourished from Season 6 to Season 10.

Given their history and chemistry, Telugu Titans could greatly benefit from this coach-player duo reuniting. With the team releasing Pawan Sehrawat ahead of Season 12, they’ll be on the lookout for a marquee raider—and Naveen fits that role perfectly.

1. Pawan Sehrawat

Pawan Sehrawat became a star with Bengaluru Bulls and was later picked by Tamil Thalaivas in season 9, but an unfortunate injury in the very first match sidelined him for the season. Telugu Titans took a chance on him in Season 10 and 11, but frequent injuries kept him from playing consistently.

Due to his on-and-off fitness record, Pawan may not command a massive bid in the auction, making it a strategic opportunity for Telugu Titans to use their Final Bid Match (FBM) card and re-sign him at a lower price. When fit, Pawan remains one of the most explosive raiders in the league.
