PKL 12: What will be Puneri Paltan's starting 7 in Pro Kabaddi 2025?

Puneri Paltan will aim for their second trophy in PKL 12.

There’s a sense of excitement in the air ahead of the twelfth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 12). The league is all set to kick off on August 29 and is expected to keep viewers glued to their seats.

The auction, which was held a couple of months back, was just the trailer. PKL 10 champions Puneri Paltan will be one of the sides to watch out for.

They were well on track to defend their crown last season, but an injury to skipper Aslam Inamdar, coupled with a dip in form, changed their fate. They are back and raring to go this season. Puneri Paltan have made quite a few interesting moves in the auction and will hope to reignite the title hopes this season.

On that note, let us take a look at the predicted starting seven of Puneri Paltan in PKL 12.

Overpowered raiding force

The Paltan have not changed much and therefore possess one of the strongest and most lethal attacking units across the league. The former champions have retained the services of Pankaj Mohite and Mohit Goyat. The duo have made it to the headlines multiple times for their magic on the mat. 

They have also roped in Sachin Tanwar for a hefty price tag to overpower their raiding unit. Sachin had a season filled with mixed performances last time around, but he is coming into PKL 12 on the back of a strong domestic season with Rajasthan.

Moreover, skipper Aslam Inamdar will also continue to drop in impactful performances. The likes of Aditya Shinde, Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh, and Milad Mohajer can also come off the bench to make an impact.

Robust backline

Gaurav Khatri will continue to lead the backline for Puneri Paltan. Khatri has not just been a star defender for the Pune-based side but has also established himself among the elite list of defenders in the history of the league. Abinesh Nadarajan already has a solid synergy with Khaytri and will operate at the right cover position. 

The duo picked up 97 tackle points last season and will hope to replicate their heroics. Mohd. Amaan is expected to be the first choice left corner as he brings in a lot of solidity and new signing Gurdeep Sangwan will shoulder duties at the left cover position. Vishal Bharadwaj will also be a strong option to rely on from the bench.
