Dabang Delhi have the highest purse value going into the PKL 12 auction.

The wait is finally over! The Pro Kabaddi League season 12 auction (PKL 12) will be held on May 31 and June 1, and fans are eager to see how the teams line up for the upcoming season. The league has grown tremendously over the years, and with fresh young talent emerging, it’s only natural to expect the tournament to reach new heights every year.

The auction dynamics have drastically evolved from the first season, where the highest-paid player received ₹12.80 lakhs.

In season 11, the record was set with the highest bid of ₹2.15 crores. Season 10 broke all the records with two massive signings: Pawan Sehrawat was picked by Telugu Titans for a whooping ₹2.605 crores, becoming the most expensive Indian player ever, while Mohammadreza Shadloui fetched ₹2.35 crores, becoming the most expensive foreign player in PKL history.

This season, all eyes will be on whether those records are broken or not. With so many star players in the auction pool, it promises to be a thrilling event. Each team has a total purse of ₹5 crores. However, the value of retained players will be deducted from this amount, meaning teams that have kept their core will have less to spend, while others that released most of their squad will have more money to make big signings.

Dabang Delhi have the highest purse remaining. They have retained only two NYPs (New Young Players) and released all their star players, including Ashu Malik, Naveen Kumar, and Yogesh Dahiya. This will allow them to bet on top names in the auction.

Other teams like Bengaluru Bulls, Gujarat Giants, and Bengal Warriorz have also released several key players and will enter the auction with a big purse.

Meanwhile, defending champions Haryana Steelers have retained their core squad and have ₹2.46 crores left in their purse. On the other hand, UP Yoddhas have the lowest purse left with ₹1.86 crores and already have 13 players in their squad. Their auction activity is likely to be minimal.

Some top players in the auctions are Ashu Malik, Mohammadreza Shadloui, Naveen Kumar, Yogesh Dahiya, Ankit Jaglan, Nitin Rawal, Arjun Deshwal, Devank Dalal, and Vijay Malik. They are expected to get the big bucks at the auction.

Among them, Mohammadreza Shadloui and Devank Dalal, last season’s top defender and raider, respectively, are expected to attract bids over ₹2 crores. Arjun Deshwal and Ashu Malik could also expect a similar figure in the auction.

PKL 12: Remaining purse value of all teams:
