PKL 12: Pawan Sehrawat reveals their plan to avoid tiebreaker against Telugu Titans

Tamil Thalaivas beat Telugu Titans in a thrilling encounter in PKL 12.

Kabaddi’s premier competition, the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), resumed proceedings with its twelfth edition at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Vizag. In the first match of PKL 12, Pawan Sehrawat led Tamil Thalaivas to a comfortable win against his former team, Telugu Titans. 

Thalaivas beat Titans 38-35 and extend their season. Arjun Deshwal started from where he left off and produced a standout performance for the Thalaivas. He picked up a super 10 and accumulated 12 points to guide his side over the line. 

After the match, Tamil Thalaivas’ head coach Sanjeev Baliyan and Pawan Sehrawat, along with Telugu Titans’ skipper Vijay Malik and head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda, addressed the media.

Sanjeev Baliyan’s thoughts on the game

Tamil Thalaivas’ head coach Sanjeev Baliyan was asked about his thoughts on the match. Baliyan said, “Both teams are good teams with good players. We expected a good game, and our defenders and raiders scored well. We played well, and it was an evenly poised and entertaining game. Whoever played good Kabaddi in the final ten minutes won the game.”

Pawan Sehrawat on the game plan against the Telugu Titans

The skipper, Pawan Sehrawat, was quizzed about his side’s game plan to avoid a tiebreaker and secure a win against the Titans. He opened up and said, “It was our coach’s plan, which we had planned before the game. Arjun was asked to take the bonus points, as we had an idea that Titans could win if the match went to a tiebreaker. They wanted to take it to the tiebreaker, but we executed the plan and stopped them.”

Krishan Kumar Hooda’s message to the fans

Telugu Titans coach Krishan Kumar Hooda shared a message for the fans. He assured them that his team would give them many reasons to celebrate in the remainder of the season.

“I have said it before, and I’ll repeat it. It was just the first match, don’t be disappointed because we will give you many moments of joy. We have our next match against UP Yoddhas, and we will give our best,” he signed off.
