PKL 12: Anup Kumar gives big statement on Ayan's performance after Patna Pirates' loss against U Mumba

U Mumba clinched their fourth win in PKL 12 by thrashing Patna Pirates.
U Mumba and Patna Pirates produced an entertaining encounter in match 27 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12), with U Mumba winning the game by just one point.
Amirmohammad Zafardanesh and Anil fueled the Mumbai-based side to a much-needed win, having faced a defeat in their last outing. Meanwhile, the Patna Pirates will consider themselves lucky for ending up on the losing side, and that too by the finest of margins.
After the game, representatives from both teams addressed the media.
U Mumba
Thoughts on the game
U Mumba head coach Anil Chaprana shared his thoughts after the game and said, “Today’s entire match was absolutely a very good win. When the boys play till the end and there is no idea about the result, but still there is a hope that our boys will do well and they will live up to that hope, so a good feeling comes from within, that feeling came very well today.”

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh’s performance
Sunil Kumar spoke about Amirmohammad Zafardanesh’s performance and said, “This is the planning of our team. We have six to seven such raiders, and we can put anyone in the playing. If we put different raiders, the other teams are not able to plan. That’s why Coach Sahab and I had planned together that today we would field Zafardanesh, and he did well because he is a good raider. No doubt,”
Thoughts on Puneri Paltan
Sunil Kumar shared his views on Puneri Paltan ahead of their next game and said, “Both their offence and defence are working. Aditya Shinde, who raids from the left side, is doing very well this time, and their defense has Gaurav Khatri, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Gurdeep. Everyone is playing well.”
“Our team is also playing well. It will be a tough competition. Whoever plays on the ground for 40 minutes and plays according to the plan will win,” he added.
Favourite raider and defender
Amirmohammad Zafardanesh told the media about his idols. He said, “My favourite raider is Naveen Kumar and my favorite defender is Sunil Kumar.”
Patna Pirates
Ayan’s performance
Patna Pirates head coach Anup Kumar shared an insight about Ayan Lohchab’s performance and said, “The way Ayan is playing, his performance is good, but there are a few mistakes that he made.”
“He scored 21 points today, did a super raid in the second half, and played very well. But he also made two big mistakes in the second half. So we will focus a little on these things. One was a super tackle, and then he was Self out. In the last raid, the score was equal; we could have won there. But we lost. If Ayan had decided the raid earlier, then maybe the match could have come in our favor,” he added.
Thoughts ahead of the next game
Anup Kumar opened up about his thoughts ahead of the next game and said, “We will play well in the future as well. My team played a good match today. We will work on our defence a little bit because the defence didn’t play as well as it should have.”
“When the team wins, the confidence is different after winning and after losing, whether it is the player or the coach, everyone gets disappointed, but we still have time, we will practice a little, have a little discussion, and will start the next leg only after raising the morale of the team,” he added.
