The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 12) started on Friday, August 29, with 12 teams all set to battle it out for the trophy. The league stage will run till October 23 across four cities – Vizag, Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi.

The Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag, SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai, and Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi are the four venues chosen to host the upcoming edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Tamil Thalaivas faced Telugu Titans in the first match of the PKL 12. The 12 participating teams are Bengal Warriorz, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi, Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, U Mumba, and UP Yoddhas.

New playoffs format for PKL 12

The PKL 12 will follow a new format, where each team will play a total of 18 league stage matches. The top eight teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the playoffs. The format for the playoffs is as follows:

  • Teams placed between 5th and 8th will compete in the Play-ins matches, with the winners qualifying for the Eliminators.
  • The third and fourth-placed teams will battle it out in a Mini-Qualifier. The winner will advance to the next round, while the loser will get another chance in the playoffs.
  • The table-toppers will play Qualifier 1, with the winner securing a direct spot in the Final. Meanwhile, the loser will play Qualifier 2.
  • The winners of the Play-in matches will compete in Eliminator 1.
  • The winner of Eliminator 1 will face the loser of the Mini-Qualifier in Eliminator 2. This will be followed by the winner of Eliminator 2 taking on the winner of the Mini-Qualifiers in the third Eliminator.
  • The loser of Qualifier 1 will take on the winner of Eliminator 3 in the second qualifier.
  • The winner of Qualifier 2 will lock horns with the winner of Qualifier 1 in the summit clash of PKL 12.

Where and how to watch PKL 12 in India?

The Pro Kabaddi 2025 will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network across multiple languages. The Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 2, and Star Sports 2 HD channels will provide fans with English commentary.

Meanwhile, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1 Hindi HD, Star Sports 1 Tamil, Star Sports 1 Telugu, and Star Sports 1 Kannada will provide commentary in their respective regional languages for fans.

Fans in India can also visit the Jio Hotstar app or website to watch PKL 12 live streaming. Those who want to watch the tournament live will have to buy a JioHotstar subscription.

Once subscribed, you can stream the matches from your mobile, tablet, or desktop, ensuring you never miss a moment of the Kabaddi action.
