PKL 12: Who replaced injured Pranay Rane in UP Yoddhas squad?

UP Yoddhas have had a poor campaign so far in PKL 12.

UP Yoddhas will lock horns with Tamil Thalaivas in Match 46 of the Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, on Monday, September 22.

The Yoddhas are placed 10th in the standings with four points in six encounters, including two wins and four losses. They have a score difference of -24. On the other hand, the Thalaivas are eighth with six points and a score difference of -9 from seven matches, courtesy of three wins and four losses.

UP Yoddhas have suffered a massive blow mid-season. Their raider Pranay Rane has been ruled out of the remaining matches of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12. The franchise announced the news through a social media post on Monday, September 22.

“Due to an injury, Pranay Rane will not be able to compete in PKL Season 12 further. We wish him the best in his recovery,” a statement from the UP Yoddhas read.

The 24-year-old was signed by the Uttar Pradesh-based franchise for his base price of INR 13 lakhs during the Season 12 Auction. Pranay made his PKL debut with U Mumba and served the club for two seasons in PKL 9 and 10. He played for the Warriorz in the previous season.

Due to an injury, he didn’t feature for the Yoddhas in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. He has 122 points in 37 matches across three seasons. The Indian raider averages 3.24 raid points per match and has three Super 10s to his name.

Krishan Dhull named Pranay Rane’s replacement

Right corner defender Krishan Dhull has been named as Pranay Rane’s replacement in the UP Yoddhas squad for the remainder of the PKL 12. He has played for three franchises across four seasons in the Indian top-tier league.

Dhull joined Dabang Delhi in PKL Season 8 and was part of the franchise for two seasons before moving to Patna Pirates in Season 10. In PKL 11, the Indian defender played his trade for the Telugu Titans. He has amassed 160 tackle points in 85 matches in four seasons.

Krishan Dhull has 10 Super Tackles and nine High 5s thus far in the Pro Kabaddi League.
