PKL 12: Will Devank Dalal play tonight against Bengaluru Bulls?

Devank Dalal missed his first match in PKL 12 against Tamil Thalaivas.

Bengaluru Bulls are set to take on Bengal Warriorz in match 104 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 22.

Bengaluru Bulls are placed fifth in the PKL 2025 points table with 18 points from 16 matches, including nine wins and seven losses. They have a score difference of 39 thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

On the other hand, the Warriorz are languishing at the bottom of the standings with 12 points and a score difference of -74 from 17 matches, courtesy of six wins and 11 losses. Bengal have to defeat the Bulls by a massive margin and ensure the other four games go in their favour to qualify for the play-ins.

With the Bengal Warriorz almost eliminated from the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League, they are likely to continue experimenting with their playing combination and rest senior players.

Will Devank Dalal play tonight?

Bengal Warriroz captain Devank Dalal missed the franchise’s previous encounter against Tamil Thalaivas, where they secured a marginal 44-43 victory. While the exact reason behind Devank’s exclusion is unclear, the team likely wanted to give opportunities to the youngsters.

After the match, Bengal Warriorz head coach Naveen Kumar revealed his thoughts behind benching star raider Devank Dalal.

He said, “Devank is a brilliant raider, not just Bengal’s, but the league’s best raider. He’s at the top. But we have to check the entire team. We also wanted to test other players.”

“We know that if he had played, he would have scored another 20–25 raid points, but then we wouldn’t have been able to assess the other players who’ve been part of the squad. With two matches left, we wanted to give these players a chance to prove themselves,” he added.

Raider Vishwas S leads Bengal Warriorz against the Thalaivas and is likely to lead the franchise against the Bulls too.

Devank Dalal is likely to sit out for the franchise’s last encounter against the Bengaluru-based team on Wednesday. The star Indian raider has been a vital cog for the Warriorz, having earned 272 points (271 raid points and one tackle point) from 16 encounters.

He has 5 Super Raids and 15 Super 10s to his name from 368 raids in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. The youngster averages 16.93 raid points per match. We can expect Bengal to drop a few more senior players and give more chances to the young players.
