PKL 9: Dabang Delhi retained Naveen Kumar and Vijay Malik

They were the champions of last edition of the PKL.

Season 8 champions of Pro Kabaddi League Dabang Delhi have retained star raider Naveen Kumar and all-rounder Vijay Malik for the upcoming Season 9. Both played a crucial role in Dabang Delhi’s historic victory in the finals of the previous season against Patna Pirates. Now, before the much-awaited PKL 9 auction, let’s take a look at the performances of both players in the Season 8:

Naveen Kumar

The top raider from Dabang Delhi played in 17 matches in Season 8 and earned 207 raid points with a good strike rate of 57.6%. Naveen helped Dabang Delhi win the epic final against Patna Pirates in Season 8 by earning 13 points, out of which 11 were touch points and while two were bonus points. In the semi-final, the Delhi player earned 14 points to give his team a comfortable victory against Bengaluru Bulls.

Vijay Malik

Star all-rounder Vijay Malik played a crucial role in the final of the Season 8 of Pro Kabaddi League. He earned 14 raid points including eight touch points and five bonus points for his team in the crucial match. Overall, Vijay played in 23 games last season and 157 raid points with an average of 53.16%. His all-round ability is the primary reason behind his retention. He earned five tackle points throughout the season.

Performance of Dabang Delhi in Season 8

Dabang Delhi’s overall performance was outstanding as they finished second in the table, with 12 victories out of 22. The team lost six games while four ended in a tie. Delhi played their best Kabaddi in the knockout stage and hence the result went in their favour. With two important retained players, Dabang Delhi would want to make some good choices at the auction, which is schedules to be held on August 6 and August 7.
