PKL Auction: Fazal Atrachali, Nabibakhsh sold to Puneri Paltan for Rs2.25 cr

The Paltan will seek to build their team around the duo.
The PKL 9 auction started on a terrific note as Iranian player Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh went to Puneri Paltan for the whopping amount of ₹87 lakhs. If this doesn’t surprise you, then the very next bid was even higher in the form of Fazal Atrachali, who was sold for a massive amount of ₹1.38 crores.
Puneri Paltan started their auction campaign with a double blast, as they got both the Iranian players in their squad. The Iranians, who are always known to be extraordinary when it comes to kabaddi, created their impact in the PKL auction as well.
Nabibakhsh, who played for the Bengal Warriors in the last edition, helped them win the PKL 7 with his great performance. He earned 89 raid points with a good raid strike rate of 48% during that season. In crucial moments, he also assisted the Warriors with his defending abilities. The fight to take Nabibakhsh was a moment to witness in the auction as Gujarat Giants and Puneri Paltan were not ready to leave a single chance to buy the Iranian great. This is going to be Nabibakhsh’s third PKL eason and he would want to make it count on any chance.
Double delight for Pune
On the other hand, Atrachali, who played for U Mumba in most of the seasons, was ignored by his present team in FBM, thus went to Puneri Paltan along with his Iranian teammate. He wouldn’t mind this at all if looking at the remarkable prize money he got. Atrachali couldn’t help U Mumba in the last season, but his worth could be seen in this year's auction. There was a continuous fight in the beginning between Dabang Delhi and Telugu Titans for Atrachali, but Puneri Paltan proved to be a silent winner as they came at the last moment in the battle and got what they wanted.
Puneri Paltan, who retained ten players ahead of the auction, would be on cloud nine after buying the Iranian duo. Their defending problems have been solved with the presence of Atrachali and Nabibakhsh. It’s going to interesting to see which other players they will go for now keeping mind their remaining purse.
