Defenders with most High 5s in the first season of the Pro Kabaddi League
The first season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) was special for more than one reason. This was the first time a tournament of its kind was being hosted for Kabaddi. Like the IPL, The PKL too announced the beginning of a new era and thus all the moments from the first season were memorable.
The first season of the Pro Kabaddi League saw its fair share of big names. Some of them are still playing in the league. In this article we will tell you about the defenders with the most High 5s in the first season of the PKL.
5. Manjeet Chhillar
Manjeet Chhillar holds the record of the most tackle points in PKL history. Manjeet is the only defender to have more than 375 tackle points against his name in the tournament. Manjeet Chhillar has won more 391 tackle points in 132 matches and is the most successful defender in the league’s history. He has been a top performer since season 1. He represented Bengaluru bulls in the first season of PKL. He had 3 High 5s in 16 matches.
4. Rohit Rana
Rohit Rana was part of the Jaipur Pink Panthers team which lifted the trophy in the first season of the PKL. He represented Jaipur for the first four seasons and then moved on to Telegu Titans. In the first season of the PKL, Rohit Rana played 15 matches and had 38 tackle points to his name with 3 High 5s in them. The last time he played in the Pro Kabaddi League was in the 6th season where he represented U Mumba. Playing in the left corner, Rohit Rana is one of the prominent defenders of the PKL.
3. Ravinder Pahal
With 338 points in 120 matches “The Hawk” Ravinder Pahal is the fourth most successful defender in the league’s history. He started his PKL career with Dabang Delhi. Raviinder Pahal played nine matches in the first season of the PKL, which included three High 5s and 29 points in total. He has also represented Bengaluru Bulls and Puneri Paltan in his PKL career. He then made a return to Dabang Delhi in the sixth and seventh season and then represented Gujarat Giants in the eighth season.
2. D Suresh Kumar
D Suresh Kumar is a very experienced player. He represented Patna Pirates in the first three season of the Pro Kabaddi League. Patna Pirates won the Pro Kabaddi League in the first season. In that season D Suresh Kumar played 12 matches and had 4 High 5s to his name. He decided to retire after playing for U Mumba in the fourth season.
1. Surender Nada
Surender Nada was one of the prominent defenders of the first few seasons of the PKL. He was a part of the U Mumba team in the first season of the PKL and had five High 5s to his name in 15 matches. He had the most High 5s in the inaugural season of the league. He made a comeback in the latest season of the league where he represented Haryana Steelers. He is very close to the 300 points mark having played 92 league points and accumulated 291 points.
