Top five PKL stars to watch out for in Khelo India University Games 2025

Many top PKL stars will be seen in action at the Khelo India University Games 2025.

The Khelo India University Games 2025 commenced on November 24 and will conclude on December 5, taking place across multiple venues in Rajasthan.

The men’s kabaddi event is scheduled to take place from December 1 to 5 at the Indoor Hall, Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner. Eight teams have been divided into two groups of four teams each. The participating universities are:

  • Lovely Professional University, Punjab
  • Guru Kashi University, Bathinda, Punjab
  • Panjab University, Chandigarh, Punjab
  • University of Kota, Rajasthan
  • Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab
  • Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh
  • Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan
  • Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar, Rajasthan

Several PKL stars will be in action at the 2025 edition of the Khelo India University Games. On that note, let’s take a look at the top 5 players to watch out for:

5. Ashish Malik

Bengal Warriorz defender Ashish Malik will join Yogesh Dahiya as the other main defender in the Lovely Professional University squad for the University Games. He bagged 47 points from 15 matches for the Warriroz in the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

4. Yogesh Dahiya

Bengaluru Bulls skipper Yogesh Dahiya will ply his trade for Lovely Professional University in the Khelo India University Games 2025. The Indian player will be the team’s lead defender in the competition. He heads into the tournament after guiding the Bulls to the Pro Kabaddi 2025 playoffs.

Moreover, he earned 51 tackle points from 19 matches for the Bengaluru-based franchise in the previous PKL season.

3. Rakesh Sungroya

Rakesh Sungroya has been part of the Gujarat Giants setup in the Pro Kabaddi League over the last five seasons. In the previous edition, he earned 114 raid points from 232 raids across 16 matches, including two Super Raids and four Super 10s.

He is a consistent performer over the last five seasons and will look to replicate his performance for Lovely Professional University in the KIUG 2025.

2. Ajit Chouhan

Raider Ajit Chouhan has been plying his trade for U Mumba over the last two seasons in the Pro Kabaddi League. In PKL Season 11, he amassed 186 points from 23 matches, while he earned 122 points from 15 games in the recently concluded edition of the PKL. He didn’t play all matches this season owing to injury concerns.

Ajit is the lead raider for Guru Kashi University in the upcoming edition of the Khelo India University Games. His PKL form and experience will come in handy for the Bathinda-based university as they look to claim the title.

1. Ayan Lohchab

PKL 2025 star raider Ayan Lohchab will represent Lovely Professional University, Punjab, in the 2025 edition of the Khelo India University Games. He was the best raider in the season with 316 raid points from 431 raids across 22 matches, averaging 14.36 raids per match.

The young raider had 9 Super Raids and 16 Super 10s to his name. Additionally, he bagged eight tackle points with the Patna Pirates in PKL Season 12.

Taking his red-hot form into consideration, the onus will be on Ayan to deliver stunning performances and guide his university to the title.

The men’s kabaddi event is scheduled to take place from December 1 to 5.
