Some players might well be retained in the next season.

The eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is done and dusted. Dabang Delhi defeated Patna Pirates to win the PKL title. Now, all the teams have begun to prepare themselves for the next campaign. Telugu Titans, who had a bitter end to the season would have surely started rectifying their errors as well. The team would like to forget the mistakes of the last season and start afresh.

The Telugu Titans played a total of 22 matches in the eighth season of the PKL, of which they won only one, while they had to face defeat in 17 matches. Their four matches were also tied. Their team's star Siddharth Desai got injured early in the season. Because of this, the team came under a lot of pressure and never recovered from this setback. Now, before the next season, the question in front of the Telugu Titans will be which players should they retain?

Before that, let us tell you about the retention policy in the PKL. Any team can retain six players under the Elite Retained Players category and six players under the New Young Players category.

Let us now look at the players who should be retained by the Telugu Titans before the upcoming PKL auction.

Players who should be retained by Telugu Titans

If we look at the overall performance of the Telugu Titans, there are not many players who have done wonders. A lot of mistakes were made by stalwarts like Surender Singh, Rituraj Koravi, and Rohit Kumar. Expectations were high from these players before the start of PKL, but their performances were not that good.

However, many new players also raised hope. Ankit Beniwal, Rajneesh, Sandeep Kandola, and T. Adarsh did a great job. These players can be retained by Telugu Titans. Apart from this, one cannot ignore Siddharth Desai either. Even though he got injured in the last PKL season, then also he could win matches on his own, if he stays fit in the next one. Due to the tall stature of Siddharth Desai, it is very difficult to tackle him. The duo becomes unstoppable if both of them are in-form. In such a situation, having Siddharth in any team would be the biggest positive point for that team.

Players who can be relied upon

If we talk about other players, then Ankit Beniwal got 111 points in 21 matches in the past PKL season. At the same time, young Rajneesh also proved himself by getting 106 points in 13 matches. T Adarsh showed a great game as an all-rounder. He scored 76 points in 21 matches. Star defender Sandeep Kandola also scored 42 points in the last season. Ankit Beniwal and Rajneesh can be used as the main raiders. These players have got the skills that help them to keep their flow of points continuous. On the other hand, T Adarsh is a very useful player too. The reason being, that if all the main raiders of the team are out, then he can fetch some points through his raids.

Sandeep Kandola's experience can be of great use to the Telugu Titans. He also showed glimpses of his experience in the last PKL season, but did not get much support from other players. If the Titans get some good defenders in the next season, then Sandeep Kandola can prove to be very dangerous. In such a situation, these players should be retained Telugu Titans. These players can bring much-awaited success to the team.
