As Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 8 enters its last seven days of the first half, players have already made their mark with stellar and record-breaking performances. Undoubtedly, it is going to be a nail-biting contest to decide which team is going to be the season’s best.
The third week brought us some fantastic performances from the players who stole the show and became decisive factors for their teams’ victories. Here we are with the third Team of the Week from the ongoing season of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Raiders
Naveen Kumar (Dabang Delhi)
The "Naveen Express" is almost everywhere in this Pro Kabaddi League season. The youngster has topped the list in almost every match in terms of scoring points for his team. In his match against the Telugu Titans, he scored a stand-alone 25 points when every other player was struggling to score for the team. The team went on to win by a minute margin of 36-35.
In their second match against UP Yoddha, Naveen dominated the game by scoring 18 points, which helped his team take the match 37-33. The blazing raider could well be the top scorer of this league.
Maninder Singh (Bengal Warriors)
Although Maninder's team has had a very tough season this year, that hasn’t restrained him from giving it his all. The raider has given his best for the team.
In the match against the Haryana Stealers which his team lost 37-41, Maninder scored 14 points for his team in five raids. He currently has the most number of super raids this season. No doubt he gets better and better in the game.
Pawan Sehrawat (Bengaluru Bulls)
Pawan Sehrawat has been one of the reasons why the Bengaluru Bulls have been one of the top teams in the eighth edition of the league. The lanky raider scored 18 points for his team in the match against the Jaipur Pink Panthers to seal the game 38-31. But, his stunning performance came against one of the dominant teams Dabang Delhi, where he scored 27 points for the team.
His performance made the game a one-sided affair, which the team closed by a massive margin of 61-22. Pawan Sehrawat’s form is a clear indication of what more is to come in the remaining season.
All-Rounders
Mohammadreza Chiyaneh (Patna Pirates)
Mohammadreza Chiyaneh has been very consistent in Pro Kabaddi League Season 8. When his team played against U Mumba, he scored four tackle points along with one raid point.
This all-round performance was a decisive factor for his team which won by a great margin of 43-23. He will look to continue his run for the rest of the season.
Jaideep Kuldeep(Haryana Steelers)
As for Jaideep Kuldeep, who is having his debut season this year, he has already stolen the attention of a lot of people. When he played against the Bengal Warriors, he scored three tackle points along with one raid point, which helped his team win by 37-41. Jaideep is likely to be one of the players to look out for thanks to his all-around performance.
Defenders
PO Surjeet Singh (Tamil Thalaivas)
Tamil Thalaivas captain Surjeet Singh’s reputation precedes him as a defender. Surjeet scored a whooping eight tackle points against the Haryana Steelers, which helped his team close the match by 45-26. His performance has always acted as a wall for his team.
Neeraj Kumar (Patna Pirates)
Neeraj Kumar has played an integral role in his team’s victories and they are now the table-toppers in the Pro Kabaddi League. He outplayed the raiders of U Mumba by scoring eight tackle points which were also the highest for his team.
Neeraj’s consistency would be very important for his team to choke the attack of other teams. It won’t be a surprise if Neeraj’s presence helps the team to clinch yet another title this year.
