Tamil Thalaivas sign new NYP for PKL 13 & 14

Tamil Thalaivas have laid the foundation for PKL 13 by signing a new NYP.

Tamil Thalaivas were at the centre of many controversies in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). They were termed as one of the best teams on paper after the auction, with stars like Pawan Sehrawat, Arjun Deshwal, and Narender Kandola representing them.

However, midway through the tournament, the team released their captain Pawan Sehrawat. After winning only 6 of 18 matches and being eliminated from the tournament, head coach Sanjeev Baliyan revealed the behind-the-scenes drama in a press conference.

After that, the franchise released Sanjeev Baliyan from the role of head coach and is now looking to rebuild the team under a new management setup. As part of that process, they have started recruiting New Young Players (NYP) ahead of PKL 13.

Thalaivas announce New Young Players for PKL 13 & 14

Earlier, Tamil Thalaivas announced the recruitment of right raider Suthil Darshan as an NYP for PKL 13 and 14 back in January. Suthil hails from Tamil Nadu and brings a local touch to the team.

Now, the management has announced Lakshay Suhag, a left cover from Rajasthan, as their second NYP for the next two seasons. Lakshay was on the radar of the Thalaivas management as he participated in local tournaments under the Thalaivas banner.

There are still two vacancies left for NYP players in the Thalaivas squad, and the team is expected to announce the remaining two players soon.

As they look to rebuild their squad ahead of the next season, the process starts with recruiting talented NYPs and then heading into the auction with a clear plan. The Thalaivas fans will be expecting the management to build a strong team for the next season.
