Patna Pirates vs UP Yoddhas : All time Head-to-Head record in Pro Kabaddi
Patna Pirates have a lead of ten wins over UP Yoddhas in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League.
UP Yoddhas are set to take on three-time champions Patna Pirates in match 29 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 (PKL 11). Earlier in PKL 11, Patna Pirates edged past UP Yoddhas 42-37 in Hyderabad.
Earlier, Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 UP Yoddhas went down narrowly 28-30 against the defence of Haryana Steelers. Much to the surprise of all, UP’s first choice trio of the raiders – Bharat Hooda, Surinder Gill and Bhavani Rajpoot, all failed as the defence of Manpreet Singh-coached side led by the likes of Rahul Sethpal and Sanjay Dhull came out on top.
However, two things that the Yoddhas could still take back home were the performance of Gagan Gowda, who had impressed earlier in bits and pieces but now with his showing against Mohammadreza Shadloui and co. presents the GMR-owned franchise as a very realistic fourth raider to bank on in times of crisis, and a point from the game given the deficit was just two points.

However, UP Yoddhas will be worried about their defence as only Sumit has performed well for them so far in Pro Kabaddi League Season 11. The likes of Mahender Singh and Sahul Kumar would need to come out of their shell and be proactive if the Lucknow-based franchise wants to shake the loss off. The form of their captain Surender Gill is worrying as well. The raider could score only one point in the third-consecutive game of the league now.
Patna Pirates, the only team to three-peat the Pro Kabaddi League, will also come into the game after suffering a narrow defeat. They lost 26-28 to the Hi-Flyer Pawan Sehrawat-led Telegu Titans. This was the Pirates’ second loss in the three games they have played, and thus lie second-to-the-bottom on the league table.
The three-time Pro Kabaddi League champions have perhaps the weakest raiding lineup in the league, with Devank being the only consistent performer. Even for him, 25 of the 38 points he has scored so far have come against Tamil Thalaivas. So it is safe to say that either the Pirates have the weakest raiding lineup or they are yet to figure out their best combination on the mat.
As for their defence, Ankit Jaglan and Deepak Rathee have been the brightest spots. They have been consistent with their tackling, but the franchise would need more from their key defenders. Coach Narender Redhu would hope players like Shubham Shinde and Gurdeep find some form and help the defence settle down in Pro Kabaddi League 11.
UP Yoddhas vs Patna Pirates: Head-to-Head record

As for the head-to-head record between the two franchises in Pro Kabaddi League, Patna Pirates have enjoyed the upper hand, winning nine of the 15 games the two have played against each other. The highlight of these wins would be the win in the semi-final of Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 when they beat the Yoddhas 38-27.
