India and Nepal will clash in the first match of the Kho Kho World Cup 2025.

The inaugural edition of the Kho Kho World Cup will be held from 13 January to 19 January 2024 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi, India. Kho Kho is an indigenous sport in India that is very simple to play. Kho Kho is a game of speed, strategy, and cooperation. It has been played in ancient India for generations. , a fast-paced indoor sport that tests players’ agility, reflexes, and strategic thinking is traditionally played on open grounds.

Two teams compete in the game, one team defends while the other chases. The objective is to overcome the enemy while tagging as many defenders as possible. There will be two innings in this and both teams will get equal chances to chase and defend.

The Kho Kho World Cup 2025 features 23 top teams from around the globe across six continents. A total of 21 teams will play in the men’s section while 20 teams will play in the women’s section.

When and Where will the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 take place?

The Kho Kho World Cup will be held from 13 January to 19 January 2024 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi, India.

Format of the Tournament

Both Men’s and Women’s tournaments will run simultaneously. The men’s tournament has 20 teams while the women’s tournament has 19 teams. The tournament is divided into four groups with five teams in each group. Each team will compete against others in their group to determine standings. In the women’s tournament, one group will have four teams. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Quarterfinal.
