The Asian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2024 are all set to take place from May 16 to 19, 2024, at the Gymnastics Sports Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The championships will include competitions for both senior and junior gymnasts, as the 17th Junior and 11th senior championships will be held concurrently.
The tournament is an important event for all Indian artistic gymnasts participating, as this is their final opportunity to qualify for the Paris Olympics. The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2022 and 2023 and the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series 2024 were the other events that gave gymnasts a chance to secure their places at the Summer Games 2024.
The event will feature competitions across individual all-around, floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bars. The qualification rounds for senior gymnasts will take place on May 16 and for junior gymnasts on May 17, with both days featuring the all-around winners being awarded alongside the winners of the team finals.
Meanwhile, all apparatus finals are scheduled to take place on May 18 and 19, 2024, with each day hosting three events for both senior and junior gymnasts. The athlete with the highest ranking in the all-around final results from the qualifications will earn one quota place by name.
The team final winners will earn USD 1,000, while the all-around gold medalist will collect $600. Additionally, participants who finish first in various apparatus finals will be awarded $500 each.
