Is this a new leak or a fan meme?

Marvel Comics has sent the fandom into a frenzy by making T’Challa’s son the new Black Panther, who is a White man. This has also sparked some rumors for Ryan Gosling, who might join the Marvel Universe.

Some say that this might be a leak or a rumor that Marvel might be thinking about casting Ryan into this role, while some believe this is due to memes. Let’s find out more details in this article.

Ryan Gosling meme resurfaces

Fact Check: Is Marvel really casting Ryan Gosling as a new Black Panther for the next film? Absolutely NOT!

No statement or official announcement has been released by Kevin Feige or from Marvel Studios.

This is just a meme for now, which started to resurface after Ketema’s (T’Challa’s son) introduction in Marvel Knights: The World to Come, who is a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Fans joke that Marvel has “manifested” their fantasy casting, especially given Gosling’s collaboration with Disney, Marvel’s parent corporation.

On X, one fan cheered, “Ryan Gosling’s Black Panther is now real!” Someone else joked: “Update: We’re in a universe where Gosling could star as Black Panther!” A third said, “Cast Ryan as the White Black Panther to fulfill the meme!”

Most of the posts on Twitter and Reddit forums are just for engagement farming and trolling.

Ketema’s debut

Marvel Knights: The World to Come is set in the speculative future. This is a six-part miniseries, which kicks off with an aging T’Challa facing a throne challenge from his son.

Ketema, who was born from an early relationship T’Challa had in the past. The most surprising part about him is that he is a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes, which has shocked many readers and Marvel fans.

Thoughts

Although Disney is known for many race swaps for their roles, I can’t see this one happening. This might spark a huge backlash against the company.

I personally have no issues with this as I just love fiction stories and literally don’t care about any politics or agendas.
