The live-action series will adapt the Norse saga

The fans and gamers are excited as some new updates have been dropped for the upcoming Amazon’s God of War live action series. Emmy-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye (Shogun, The Boys, Fallout) has been assigned to direct the first two episodes of the first season.

God of War live action series details: Director, filming & more

From all the previous reports, we already know that this live-action series will be adapting the Norse saga. It has now been confirmed that there will be 2 seasons and season 1 will have 10 episodes.

Frederick E.O. Toye will be directing the first two episodes of season 1. As they say, the first three episodes of any series or anime are pretty important to hook the audience.

Frederick has already worked on Shogun, The Boys & many other works and has also won an Emmy. He is a perfect choice to set the pace of the live-action series.

The series is now in pre-production and is looking forward to casting. The filming is also expected to start in February 2026. So before that, we will know who will be playing Kratos and Atreus.
