Talking to the press after the game the away boss Chrring Gurung citied individual errors for the loss by saying “I have to say what we planned, we could play according to that till 45 minutes. In the second half my players commited just one mistake and they scored. Chennaiyin are of course a very good team and they did well.”
When asked about how satisfied was him after the team’s performance irrespective of the result he said, “I am satisfied with the performance of my players. It’s just that they scored two goals in quick succession and they won.”
Meanwhile, Chennaiyin head coach John Gregory was happy with the result and said, “I am delighted with the outcome. We have had a tough schedule coming to this game. We made some good chances today but most of the players were tired (due to fixture congestion). But, overall we got a win. Three points is very crucial for us. We knew a three points would take us to a good position and we got the win today.”
