Top five young players to watch in Bundesliga this season
Germany has produced quite a lot of wonderkids from its domestic leagues like Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil, and Julian Draxler.
German club football has gone through many metamorphisms in its long history, the latest being the Bundesliga which has given the world some of the best players in the history of the game. No league can match up to the sheer atmosphere that exudes from each stadium that plays host to this extravaganza of footballing efficiency. The Bundesliga has also been the birthplace and the nurturing ground of some of the best players to grace the pitch and will continue to do so for years to come.
We at Khel Now have put together a list of the top five youngsters to look out for in the upcoming Bundesliga season.
5. Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig)

The 19-year-old defensive giant plays for RB Leipzig and managed to rack up 28 league appearances and 11 appearances in European competitions.
Hailing from France, Upamecano will look to impress in the 2018-2019 season and push on to challenge the World Cup winning duo of Samuel Umtiti and Raphael Varane in the coming years.
4. Niklas Sule (Bayern Munich)

Staying with the theme of defensive giants, Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule is the next player on our list. The young man who was purchased from Hoffenheim found himself starting 20 league games in 2017-2018 due to injuries to the squad. He did not disappoint.
Sule also proved his versatility by chipping in with important goals and also making appearances in defensive midfield. The 22-year-old will look to continue his growth under new boss Niko Kovac.
3. Benjamin Pavard (VfB Stuttgart)

Pavard was a surprise inclusion in Didier Deschamps’ French squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but went on to make the unfamiliar right-back spot his own, as Les Bleus clinched the title.
The Stuttgart defender will look to push on in the league and maybe even earn himself a move to a top European side.

2. Leon Bailey (Bayer Leverkusen)

Bayer Leverkusen’s wonderkid from Jamaica helped them on the way to a fifth-place finish in the 2017-2018 season, with his nine goals and six assists. It was these performances that attracted interest from some of the world’s biggest sides, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.
However, Bailey looks to be staying put for the moment and will be aiming to improve on his already impressive performances in the upcoming season.
1. Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund)

The USA international made 32 league appearances and 50 appearances overall for his club Borussia Dortmund, who face a monumental task in keeping their prized possession at the Signal Iduna Park.
Following his brace against English side Liverpool in pre-season, Pulisic looks to be raring to go for the upcoming season.
