The Red Devils travel to the Stamford Bridge with a depleted squad and a misfiring Sanchez.

Manchester United's interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that the off-coloured Alexis Sanchez is far from finished. The Chilean forward joined the Red Devils in January 2018 and has only scored five goals whilst suffering with injuries.

Manchester United hosted Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of the Round of 16 in UEFA Champions League where Sanchez was introduced at the half time. He had zero shot attempts, zero crosses and zero successful dribbles, something the 30-year-old winger is not known for.

"We know there is a very good player there. It's like the ketchup bottle. When it comes, it comes, and I'm sure he'll be fine," said Solskjaer.

Solskjaer face a stern challenge against Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial ruled out for atleast three weeks.

Meanwhile, Alexis has won the FA Cup twice with Arsenal, first in 2015 and then in 2017. In his 20 appearances in the cup, he has been involved in 19 goals (10 goals and nine assists).

Signed on a four-and-a-half-year deal reported to be worth £14m a year, the 30-year-old said to BBC on Saturday that he "would like to have brought more joy to the club."

Solskjaer himself has won the cup twice, once being during the treble of 1999 and the other in 2004. "Everyone wants to play an FA Cup final. It's one of my best memories playing at Wembley when we beat Newcastle," he quipped.

"I knew I wasn't going to start the Champions League final so that was my big moment that season," Said Ole referring the win in 1999.

"It turned out the other way round but the FA Cup final is something we want to go to."

"I'm not going to say it's the last chance because we are going to Paris to give it a go, but the chances are slimmer," said Solskjaer retrospecting that it will be a tough task for the team to turn around a two goal deficit playing away in Paris.

Currently, Manchester United sit at the fourth position with 14 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City and a point ahead of Chelsea.
