Legacy
FC Rostov caused shockwaves in Europe last season: after finishing in second place in the Russian top flight, they unexpectedly qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, where they defeated Bayern Munich on home soil. Rostov play at the 15,000-seater Olimp-2 stadium at the moment and are due to move into their new home permanently after the World Cup.
