Clinton Niasso scored a brace, while Jessel Carneiro scored the third goal for the Pink Brigade.
With today victory, Bardez moved up to 4th position in the league table with 14 points from eight outings, while Signals has 11 points from 10 matches.
Bardez had drawn their last match against Panjim Footballers, whereas Signals were downed by Dempo SC in the previous round match.
Signals manager Major VS Kamble made only one change to his side as Chand Singh replaced Omprakash Bhogta in the lineup, whereas Lalbabu Mahto, Gaurav Vaigankar and U-20 Joliston Rebello made into the cut for Bardez side.
Signals started on a bright note and almost dominated in the first 10 minutes where they continuously penetrated the rival’s defence but none of their moves were capitalised as Bardez defenders cleared every danger.
Though Signals were the dominant side, Bardez surprised them with an opening goal on the counter-attack when their skipper Jessel Carneiro found Kirtikesh Gadekar with a long ball, who tapped it above the onrushing keeper Binu Purushothama but the final touch was given by their star striker Clinton Niasso to make it 1-0 for the Pink Brigade.
However, it was a gap of just four minutes when Signals get back in the match with a leveller from Romans MS when he smartly headed between Bardez keeper and defenders off Pawan Thakur’s inch-perfect corner, to restore the parity for his side.
A few minutes later they had a chance to take the lead when Chand headed on goal off Pawan’s another corner but this time Bardez defender Joliston cleared it off the goalline.
At the other end, Bardez once again took the lead in the 23rd minutes when Shubham Rao Desai made a swift run on the right wing and sent a low cross in the box to Clinton who finished the ball home from close, making it 2-1 for his side.
Just a few minutes before the half-time, Signals had a chance to once again put the term on the level when U-20 striker Cyril Dias intercepted the back pass from Bardez defender and tried his luck from inside the box but another defender Krishnanath Shirodkar rescued his side with a timely block.
Signals started the second session on attacking note and completely dominated the most part of the session. However, aimless shooting and poor final touch restricted the Army men from scoring the equaliser.
They had the best chance in the 83rd minutes when Pawan was nicely set up by substitute Romenjit Meetei but the midfielder failed to direct his shot in goal as Bardez keeper Aliston Fernandes easily collected his weak shot. A minute later, Roshan Singh wasted another chance as he repeated the action from his teammate.
A very next minute, Bardez winger Shubham tried his luck from distance but keeper Binu brilliantly fisted his goal-bound shot, over the crossbar. However, in the added time, Bardez skipper Jessel cemented their victory with an easy goal when defender Amit Tariyal failed to clear Lalbabu’s long cross, taking advantage of the same, Jessel finished the ball into the net for Bardez’s third goal.
