The two office-bearers put in their papers citing non-cooperation from other officials at the club.
In a most unexpected development in Kolkata and Indian football, Mohun Bagan officials Srinjoy Bose and Debashis Dutta resigned from their positions at the club earlier today.
The duo were responsible for managing the club through its good times, winning the I-League title and finishing runners-up in the Federation Cup last year. However, only a few days after the I-League’s conclusion, the officials held a press conference to announce their resignation and discuss other issues regarding the century-old club.
Dutta addressed the media saying, "I and Srinjoy did not want to disturb the I-league campaign, as our team's condition was very shaky. The resignation of head coach Sanjoy Sen stirred the situation and we stood there for the club. We turned our fortunes around and finished the league in a commendable fashion."
"We were facing high level non-cooperation from the other officials and we cannot withstand it any further as the club is bigger than anything else. So, we decided to step down as officials giving the other people considerable amount of time to get ready for the upcoming Super Cup.
“No matter what happens we will not take back our resignation,” the officials asserted.

The officials also revealed that they were forced to consider such a decision since the day Sanjoy Sen resigned but looking at the condition of the team and the Kolkata Derby which was around the corner they decided not to disturb the club during the ongoing season.
The Kolkata giants finished the league in third place behind Minerva Punjab and NEROCA FC and will feature in the inaugral Super Cup. On the said topic, the officials revealed that the team is ready and also confirmed that Bimal Magar who was brought in as a replacement for Sony Norde has failed to impress the officials and has left the club before the start of the tournament.

Debashish Dutta said that the officials don't call board meetings which is an important aspect when working in a club like Mohun Bagan and the decisions were not taken collectively.
