The forward will reportedly make a decision on his future at the club in the coming days.

After finishing the 2018-19 I-League season with nine goals in 14 appearances, Enrique Esqueda is all set to leave East Bengal, Khel Now understands.

The Mexican striker is currently en route to his homeland, for the birth of his new-born child. According to reports, this decision by the former Pachuca man led to a misunderstanding with gaffer Alejandro Menendez, who wanted him to be present for the upcoming Super Cup.

Regarding the 30-year-old forward, a Khel Now source said, "he will make a decision about his future with the club in a few days."

The source also said, "he has also had a rift with the manager, due to the player's lack of interest in playing in the upcoming Calcutta Football League too. Also, the Spaniard wants to tweak his lineup tactically, which could hinder Esqueda's position in the team."

Further, according to reports, the former Celta manager is on his way to Spain, probably in search of Esqueda's replacement for the upcoming Super Cup. There has been speculation that Uruguayan striker Bruno Fornaroli could be on his way to the Red and Gold Brigade, but our source has stated that the move may not materialize.
